Hatch ARB

Hi Guys, coming from a Widetrack blob to a hatch sti I'm going through all the thing I'm going to change and as always the ARB are first on my list, car already has KW V3 coilovers so just looking for that extra stiffness

now this is where i get confused, my old blobeye sti i upgraded to CDF bars still got them in the shed and the rear is 24mm and the front is 22mm

How come on the hatch the 24mm is recommended as motorsport only compared to the 27mm on the rear of the blobeye?

I'm no expert but I'm guessing the hatch has a stiffer chassis than the blobeye so 24mm is too much for road use?

I had the following handling pack fitted to my hatch last year by AST and the handling was transformed. Note that there is no upgraded front ARB. Litchfield/AST don't recommended them for the hatch on road.

These are all Whiteline Part Nos:
KDT902 Rear subframe bush insert
BSR49Z Rear roll bar
KSB568 Front strut tower brace
KCA334 Anti Lift/castor kit
KSR207 Steering rack bushes

Hope this helps?

Thats very helpful, thank you! did you not have a RARB fitted ?

have you had any other impreza?

i find the steering very light on this and wondered if what you have changed made any difference at all?

Yes mate, item 2 in the above list is the rear ARB, 22 mm I think off the top of my head.

This is my third Impreza (blob, classic then hatch).

Yes the standard steering feel is pants. The kit I had fitted included revalving the power steering and with upgraded steering rack bushes. The rear subframe bushes are a must as well. Do you find the rear end skittish and fails to inspire confidence at high speed? The parts above with four wheel alignment cost 800 quid and totally transforms the handling. The only downside is a slight increase in tyre noise but everything is massively improved! Take a look at Litchfields website for further info. AST designed the kit for Litchfield so they can supply the same kits.

Litchfield recommend sticking with standard front and 22mm rear IIRC.
