Light-weight Battery
 

I've already moved the battery to the boot but I'm going to remove the spare wheel well so started thinking about a lightweight battery. The car is only used for fun and not as a daily driver so will sit connected to a trickle charger - just need to know which one to get that will be powerful enough to crank the engine and won't let me down it it's not used regularly.

I'm looking at odessy and varley at the moment but any pointesr would be appreciated:thumb:

I was going to go for an odessy but worried about starts after not regular use, so think I'm now going to go for an evo battery as its third of size in width.

I also installed an Odyssey battery in the boot after a recommendation from a friend of mine,but I got the slightly bigger version as my mate told me that it can run down pretty quick as he has sounds in his car and has the smaller Odyssey battery,but as he has a garage when his car is not in use its plugged into a ctek charger to keep the power up.SJ.

Standard size terminals.I have a ODB/PC925 and my mate has the ODB/PC680 which is from their Extreme range.SJ.

Pc680 for me too, lasts about 3-4 days of being parked up before going flat

Pc 680 for me as well, its never let me down,car fires up every time mind you I do use an Anderson plug off a jumper battery and a battery isolater when not in use

If the PC680 will sit for 3-4 days that is plenty for me - I know when I will be using the car and have a quick connector fitted in the rear bumper so it's a 2-minute job to plug up the CTEK once I've parked it at home. I'm planning on fitting a battery isolator so that will help if I'm ever away from home parked up for more than 3-4 days (whic has never happened in the 10-years I've owned this car) :thumb:

A quick check on Amazon (as that is all I can get reliably in work) shows the PC680 as a motorbike battery - is there a different car battery or am I looking at the right one?

Your looking at the right one mine is from a BMW motorbike works well here is a picture of my set up with the anderson connector for my jumper battery if needed.
