Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta

As the thread says ordering new tyres for my Blobeye tomorrow and seen these for a good price are they as good as the reviews are saying and are they any good on a Scooby in the dry and wet just fast road driving no track use.

A superb tire on a Impreza on dry or wet roads. My wife had two sets of the Ultrac's on her Subaru, until i convinced her to try out some NS2R's on her new wheels.SJ.

What was the verdict on the NS2R's

Everyone raves about these and for good reason they are a great road tyre
Well priced , good road manners ,decent grip in wet and dry, and wear well
Had 18,000 miles,18 months out of current set and still life in them.
I also like Eagle F1 asymmetrical for grip but they don't wear anywhere near as well and cost more
Have tried all the usual suspects over the last few years and am converted except might try Vredestein Vortis on the next change as also get good reviews and only an extra £10 a corner

cheers
Matt

Also have the Ultrac sessant's.
on dry I almost rate them as high as the bridgestone S001( these are a little bit better on very fast cornering) in wet I haven't had any tire which was as good as the Vredestein.

I bought a full set of sessantas about 4 years ago and wow, they are a fantastic tyre, I didn't even get stuck in a foot of snow (my winter tyres perform better in snow or on ice though)

I always recommend them to people, about 5 of my mates have listened to me and bought them for their scoobys. They all rate them very highly too :thumb:

I tried a set on my old RB320, and found them very good for the cost!

In the dry I found them great for fast road use, never used them on track. I only felt them let go when pushed once, when I was having a bit of fun over the Derbyshire Dales, in a fast corner.

In the wet they were awesome & even in snow/ice they performed well. Once I was parked up in a car park, on a hill. It was dry with no snow when everyone inc me parked up, but within a short time the snow fell with no grit/salt down. Everyone was trying and 'epically' failing to make it even halfway up the carpark hill. I'm sure AWD helped, but with the Sessantas on, I just drove out...simples!

After these I tried a set of Yokohama Advan AD08 & they were sublime! Best tyre I've ever had!
