Help..Samco hose colour choice..?
 

Going to start replacing all the hoses in the engine bay for Samco hoses, the only trouble is I can’t decide to go for blue or Black.?

Car is a White Hawk, Don’t want to “Chav up” the engine bay with silly colours but my preferred current favourite is black but it’s a lot of money to spent without a lot of visual enhancement if you know what I mean. Hence my consideration for Blue

anyone got any pictures of the above colours to influence me, here is the engine bay at the moment:-

Blue

SAMCO do a Classic range in black now. It's not high gloss but looks OE.

The chav in me says Blue Leeroy, think it'll brighten it up nicely but not too OTT imo.

Black for the OEM plus look, blue is trying too hard, looks tacky on a nicely presented road car. And if it was a race car, who cares what colour your hoses are? 😂

What about red to match the inlet manifold

What about white to match the car?

I'd go with red Lee as I think that colour suits a white Subaru best, however black would also fit in nice but a bit to close to OE for me to consider, if I were to spend that sort of money on hoses I'd want them to at least stand out. :thumb:

I,ve gone with red on mine but I,m not sure that would look right on a white car so I,m saying blue

I know it's not white but I went for blue with the red inlet dude

I'm going black, to match all my crackle black bits

Sounds nice, way better than a technicolour dream coat

I think blue, like the washer lines, or my second choice would be white!

Red would be my choice to add some colour contrast.

White for me

Definitely red, it's a good contrast against the engine bay and the body colour.

Cheers guys, defiantly some food for thought here as Red was not one of my original choices but in the photo it does look good Ty and not to in-your-face :)

So a mixed choice by you all….Dam I got some deciding to do ;)

I'm running a mixture if red and black in my engine bay.
I'm not a fan of the blue TBH.

If I had my time over again I'd probably go all black.

I have made the decision to go for mainly Black and may add a couple of Red ones to break it up a bit and add a little colour :) 

I have some red thinking about going all orange can't make my mind up either

I know how you feel, its a lot of money to spend and get wrong

although I have now decided :)

Right a decision has been made and the first batch have been delivered, I went with red in the end :) even though I said I was going black, I think they will add a nice splash of colour to the engine bay with a good contrast:

So delivered were

Auxiliary hoses X 13
Coolant hoses X 2
Air box hose X 1

Just one question to change the Auxiliary hoses and coolant do you have to drain all the coolant out of the system?

Nice to see my pic swayed you over to the side of good taste Lee :D, mine have always been changed out on a major service where the coolant was going to be dropped anyway.

Personally I'd drain the coolant, fit all the hoses and then refill with fresh coolant and then bleed the system - at least you'll know then that it's all 'burped' and good to go.
