iOS 9; who's made the leap?

Not seen any major issues reported but still hanging back. Anyone made the leap?

Sarg400 22 September 2015 11:16 PM

Yeah working fine on my 6 :thumb:

lordharding 22 September 2015 11:22 PM

Fine with our iPhones and iPad

jonc 22 September 2015 11:25 PM

I have on my iPhone 6, nothing major in terms of improvement/benefit worth reporting other than more useless Apple apps you can't get rid of and a low power mode ala Android.

riiidaa 22 September 2015 11:32 PM

Am I right in thinking that I won't be offered the WatchOS2 update until my phone has iOS9?

Correct.

I upgraded when the gold master was released. The most visible change is on my iPad with split screen but pretty much everything has been tweaked for the better. Liking the upgraded notes.

b3nmw 23 September 2015 06:55 AM

I've updated, some of my apps don't work know though.

An0n0m0us 23 September 2015 09:07 AM

I'm not going to it as from what i've read it doesn't work any better on the ipad 2 than ios8 did which is an utter let down. It's just a big fcuk off to ipad 2 owners that basically you might as well stick it in the draw with ipad 1s now. It won't be long before all the apps start requiring ios8 or later and dropping support for ios7.

daviee 23 September 2015 09:12 AM

Done 3 out of 4, iPad mini mk1, iPad Air and my iPhone 5 all seem to be working great, a small thing but love the lower higher case keyboard. My iPhone 6 still sealed, just back from holiday so will be getting opened and upgraded.

I've updated my mothers iPad 2 and it's working great. Saying that it worked great on iOS 8, obviously she's not a power user. Do bear in mind that it's four years old.

piehole1983 23 September 2015 11:40 AM

I've done my iPhone 5 and iPad Air both shockingly bad compared to iOS 8. Regretting doing the upgrade now. I'm finding problems with screen orientation, lock screen swipe doesn't respond occasionally, photo album appears to be refreshing over and over on the iPhone where photos will vanish and reappear quickly to name a couple of issues. Not a fan of the new app closedown layout either, it was easier in iOS 8.

Evolution Stu 23 September 2015 11:47 AM

Done my iPhone 6 and both mine and the wifes Ipad Air 2. I like it, the low power mode will be handy for when im out hiking in the mountains for sure and I like the new notes and a few other things. Split screen and copy/paste functionality is uselul too.

Both devices feel a little faster... not sure if its placebo or not but that said they are ALL definately a bit better on power.

JackClark 23 September 2015 11:50 AM

I don't like the new app switching layout either, will get used to it no doubt.

I'd give your devices a while to settle down, they do a lot of indexing and clearing up in the first hours/days depending on use. If you want to do something then back it up, restore it to factory then sync.

Same on the battery, especially the iPhone.

lol thanks DD I hadn't even noticed :lol1:

Devildog 23 September 2015 02:53 PM

Working perfectly on iPhone 5, iPhone 6 and iPad air.

Those with serious issues should consider that its maybe not ios9 that's the problem ?

My ipad air wont support the split screen as only the ipad air 2 does

The notes app is great, bloody lists at last !! but unfortunately until my mac gets el capitan it wont sync but then I knew that and only have to wait until next week.

It's not that good... actually it is, things like 1Password and notes are great. I'm running El Cap Gold Master on a 2008 iMac and my 2010 Macbook, both run great.

It's all the rage. Works great on iOS too.

jameswrx 24 September 2015 12:15 PM

I was told by izettle not to upgrade to ios9. They emailed me saying it causes problems with connecting to the Bluetooth card reader. They say Apple are aware of the problem.

Only trouble is, I can't imagine Apple releasing another update to satisfy izettle! So I assume I'll just have to refrain from the download on my iPhone 6.

I downloaded it on my iPad 2 (which has been slow since one of the previous updates) and it's still laggy and slow. But I guess Apple think it's time I upgrade my perfect condition, iPad with most of its memory unused :Whatever_

Only reason I got rid of my iPhone 4s was due to the updates rendering it useless.

Don't you just push a button? But yes, must be a pain.

If you have users that understand it, Ive had phones come back to me that were receiving their wives imessages etc because they plugged it in and it all went tits up.

Apple attracts more of the non technical minded folks inho.
