Help with rear lights
Hi my rear lights on my classic 95 are letting ran in can some one help me
|
easy fix
(that is if it is the lights and not the boot seal) Buy some Black carafax sealant (not stuff that sets solid) online, remove the lights. Clean off the old sealant and clean on both sides, the lights and the body. Then apply sealant to both lights and shell, around the groves making sure you apply a lot. then place lights back in, tighten up nuts. Wait for it to rain or get the hosepipe on them to check. Check also the light clusters themselves are not cracked |
As above, DO NOT use any sealant that sets, or when it fails, (and it will) you are in sh1t street trying to get 'em off again.
So NOT Tiger Seal, NOT Sika-Flex and definitely NOT silicone. This: https://www.google.co.uk/?gfe_rd=cr&...#q=buy+carafax is the stuff you want...it doesn't have to be black as you can't see it once the lights are in again. You also need a mastic gun suitable for 400ml tubes, Screwfix, Wickes, online etc. There are FIVE nuts holding the lights in, easy enough once you get the boot trim pushed aside. A decent shove from inside on the bolts and pulling from the outside gets 'em free. remove old stuff by scraping, then use White Spirit for a better job...it's not necessary to remove every scrap, but DO do that if the area is dirty, dried up etc. |
Thanks but just had a look and can't find it mate

You clicked that link? There's loads for sale, YOU DO NOT NEED BLACK, as I said above.
