clutch squeak from cold
This morning I noticed a squeaking noise coming from the engine, it only happened when the clutch was depressed - no noise in gear or neutral. It's not the clutch pivot point (although that needs doing too). Any ideas - is the clutch on the way out? Car is a hawk wrx.

Quite possibly the clutch release bearing.
What's the mileage? It's annoying when the bearing starts to screech when the clutch itself has obviously plenty left! The only way to cure it is too replace but, of course, while it's in bits, you replace the clutch as well! JohnD |

It's on 77 so done pretty well to get this far on the original! It's not quite a full bearing screech yet but have a terrible feeling it's the beginning of the end... just had the engine out for a forged rebuild too :brickwall
That's really annoying!:brickwall When the motor's out it's always sensible to re-new the clutch (unless it's almost new) JohnD |
