flashing immobilizer light on dash when car is locked

Hi

Anyone had this problem before -

car locks, unlocks and starts fine.
However when the car is locked, the immobilizer on the dash continues to flash once every 1-2 seconds. I don't think this is normal.

Car is a 2004 blog, standard factory alarm and immobilizer.

Thanks
David

Why would you think that's not normal?
It's supposed to flash when the car is immobilized.

Totally normal

Thanks both

I realise it's normal now.

The red light on top of the center console (where the 3 prosport gauges sit) that light is flashing super quick (more than once per second). I think that was what got me looking at the immoboliser light as well.

Does anyone know what that little red light does at the centre console? it's actually part of the pods where the gauges sit. I wonder if it has anything to do with one the gauges not working - oil pressure (not even lighting up) (thinking it's a sensor issue) or has that light got anything to do with the alarm.

I just got the car a month ago so still working through what half the stuff mean.

Thanks

Maybe just an extra LED indicator but independantly operated to warn off potential thieves???

Light on the dash is the ECU immobilizer (chip in key) and the one that flashes fast near clock is an additional immobilizer that's built into the alarm system

Sorry to resurrect this thread, my key symbol on the dashboard has just started flashing through the night. It used to shut off after 60 seconds as described in the manual. In all other respects, it seems to work normally and there are no OBD2 codes. Is it anything to worry about
