Fitting Japspeed FMIC

Few questions about the Japspeed FMIC I'm about to fit to my 2005 JDM STI.

Will be swapping from the VF37 to a Kinugawa TD05 20g twin scroll with the billet 12 blade compressor wheel very shortly and I intend to use a Japspeed FMIC which I bought a few months ago.

Ideally, I want to keep a re-circ valve, as not a fan of the 'noise' from BOVs. Any reccomendations as to which valve I can use/is compatible with the Japspeed kit.

Anybody else running one? What's it like? Lag wise? Temps? etc etc.

You can use the existing valve with an adaptor. I used a Forge re-circ valve (the actual model has been replaced - take a look on the Forge site) You will need to use an induction kit with the FMIC and this will allow a fair bit of dump noise to be heard but nowhere near the VTA volume.
I have a MDX321T and there is a certain amount of lag which is inevitable on a 2ltr engine. Pulls well from 3.5k and by 3.8k is pretty full on. I would imagine the twin scroll turbo will be much better in this respect.
TBH the charge temps (I have a temp. probe just before the throttle body) are not much changed in everyday driving but fast road or track shows an advantage.
I you're in Colchester at the end of the month take a trip to the Essex meet at the Rodney and have a look at mine?

Many thanks for the reply John.

Any idea where I can pick up the adapter to run the OEM recirc? I have an inner wing kit fitted at the moment so will be swapping to an HKS short ram when I fit the intercooler.

I have been to the meet at the Rodney once before, a few months ago but unfortunately I'm up in Edinburgh with work for the next few months!

The adaptor was available from Harvey Smith but it might now be worth contacting Alyn at APRacing as he sells the Harvey up-pipe and may also do the adaptor.

Make sure it's the right one for your re-circ!

Yeah, it's the right one. According to the eBay page, suits Bug, Blob and Hawks :)
