Putting away for winter

Thinking of buying another motor and tucking the RA away in the garage for winter.
what do people normally do regarding insurance ??

Stevo.

Keep it insured!

Scooby Stevo 31 August 2015 08:20 PM

so will my insurance cover me on another car?
my garage is behind the house, locked doors and locked high drive gates in a quiet area.

Hi,
If you need cover whilst in the garage for just accidental damage fire and theft we can offer policies just for this type of cover. If you'd like any further details please feel free to drop me a line.
Regards,
Dan.

Garage it. Saying that I haven't had mine out yet. Well only for month of so doh. Another summer missed.

Been looking into this too. UK roads are crap in winter, especially with the salt that gets put down. My Insurer won't allow me to have a second car so I either insure a winter runabout with 0 years of NCB or swap insurance for a few months...

I remove my insurance off my impreza and buy a rubbish run around like a non turbo. Then garage it for 6 months. Transfer insurance. Sometimes I run both together for few months using 0 NBC but not massive more as in insurance details they ask how many years no claiming insurance on another car you have.

I use a broker that mirrors my no claims bonus on my daily. The policy started off with 4 years no claims which has now built up to max ncb.

Green light mirror my ncb for my impreza. have a dirty diesel for tramping back and forward to work, you shouldn't need to pay for starting ncb from scratch.

I don't use mine much over winter.. or summer lol

but you could have a lovely day in winter you want to have a buzz about, so keep insured.
