Control box for towbar on 2007 WRX

Does anyone know if I need a control box for the electrics if I fit a towbar to a 2007 WRX?

Rich.

The car should already have a towing loom near the drivers side rear light.

12n no, 12s yes. Newer style depends on what you want to work. Change relay for audible one for tail tell.

@ScottyPPP Thanks, v.helpful :-)

@euar_r : "12n no, 12s yes" sorry, if I'm being thick...not sure what u mean?

Also, if I have an extra large exhaust on the back, will dropping it lower be necessary to fit the towbar?

Thanks,
Rich.

You didn't say what socket your fitting, you get various types. As you were talking about control box I got feeling you were fitting 12s which supplies power to trailer only when car is running to power accessories and a few other extras like reverse light supply and car cut.

12n is standard lights only socket.

If your using new trailer there is updated combined 13 pin socket.

Most tow bars I have fitted to various models of subaru relocate rear left exhaust hanger.

Yes, it's just a 12n socket for Brian James car trailer.

Thanks for all the info Euan :-)

Rich.
