Which exhaust sounds best on a jdm?

As above im just wondering what exhaust sounds the best and looks the best on a jdm.

I have a jdm hawk and it currently has a Miltek fitted but ive been looking at either the Tomei Titanium or the STI Genome, which of these 2 are the best?

Down to personal choice really, some might like it loud, some might like it quite, so there really isn't a best exhaust!!

Ive never had a jdm before so im used to the burble and know what exhaust i like for that, always was a nur spec r but the jdm is a different animal and has a different kind of noise which i do like and just looking for the best exhaust to make it sound the best it can, i dont think the nur spec would suit it imo, i dont like them quiet lets put it that way.

My mate had a Milltek exhaust system on his JDM hawk which sounded nice, but I agree really loud exhausts like the nur spec dont suit the twin scroll exhaust sound, if it was my choice and I could afford it then probably go for the STi genome exhaust!!

Problem is finding a mint condition one! Lol. I take it you cant buy them new anymore so just a case of waiting, i do like the look of them though, more subtle looking than the Tomei.

The Genome would be my choice, pure quality

I run a nur spec S on mine with ninja II centre fully decatted.
Sounds utterly evil!

Mine came with the nur spec R and was far too loud and raspy,I've now got the afterburner vortex and is just right. Reasonably quiet until you give it the beans and sounds great

I have one on my car too mate (afterburner vortex), no drive by footage handy at the moment though I'm afraid. But this might give you a rough idea.

Sounds good mate, is that on a jdm?

Edmondo 14 August 2015 12:21 PM

My last JDM had a Blitz Nur Spec on - measured at 120dbs @ 4000rpm - It was awesome....My current one has a Japspeed decat on and its just a shade quiet for me.

Tomei

I personally like the HKS as it sounds nice and it's track useable. I got rid of my HKS for a Miltek and the decibels dropped from 101 standing test to 98 which is pretty impressive for a 680bhp car :)

Can someone tell me if this is how it would sound on my jdm hawk?

chieftain333 16 August 2015 11:33 PM

Well its on a wrx wagon so it's got the burble,it does sound very similar to mine but with the twinscroll note

Personally i love the H&S stuff, 3" straight decat with straight angle exit, look's oem :)
