Sorry bit hard to read, below is a quarter mile time from 2002 when I took it down the drag strip. It beat every thing off the start line :) My times are the times on the left! I think I did some slightly quicker runs at about 13 seconds but will have to see if I can find them!

Hi, I am a new member on this forum!

I have owned my Subaru for 18 years. It is a WRX RA 1994 (limited edition) Still low miles!
Most RA's were white but some limited ones were produced in red! Ive got some great memories from owning this car and don't think I could ever sell it!

Just thought I would share some pictures! If anybody owns a car the same let me know? Im always interested to know more about this model of Subaru RA and their value now as I have not seen many around like this one?

Thank you! ;)

rossyboy 10 August 2015 10:23 AM

Nice car, shame about the pics! Make an effort and get some better ones up man :D

Beats my 12 years of ownership - thought that was pretty long!

01spen 10 August 2015 04:23 PM

Cheers for the comment Rossyboy! I don't know many people who have owned their Subaru longer than me :) do you? I should take it to a meet as I have never been to one before!

Will get some better pictures up and some videos too in the future! These pictures were from a few years ago, back in the good old days, when camera phones were not as good as they are now! When I first bought my Subaru my mobile phone was the size of a breeze block and didn't even have a camera on it :) You even had to pull the aerial up :)

The car still looks identical though! I have't taken any pictures of the Subaru for a long time, im not really one for taking pictures so only have a few from over the years. My memories are my pictures :)

south_scoob 10 August 2015 05:09 PM

Nice car. Bad parking :p

Props for running a scooby for 18 years. Petrol was 58p a litre when you got it! You must be prety attached to it by now

01spen 10 August 2015 05:43 PM

Cheers South scoob!
When you own a Subaru your allowed to do the occasional bad park :)

Yeh petrol was really cheap when I first got the Subaru. If you didn't have much money you could nip to the petrol station and put £5 petrol in to get you from A to B and it gave you enough fuel :)
I was only 18 years old when I bought the Subaru! It really stood out when I first bought it! I have become really attached to it to be honest just because of all the great memories I have in it from the good old days. All my friends had great cars too back then but now they all have wives and kids but rubbish cars :)
If I can I will keep my Subaru as long as I live!

joe v3sti 10 August 2015 05:47 PM

If you don't mind me asking what did you pay for it 18 years ago,
She was only a few years old then!
Did you import it or did you get a company to do it?
Who maintains it? Must be doing something right :)

Genuinely interested would love to hear

jayallen 10 August 2015 06:24 PM

Since when has a Vivienne red WRX RA been a limited edition..?

Peedee 10 August 2015 06:35 PM

Surely a record for scooby ownership?

01spen 10 August 2015 06:36 PM

Hi Joe v3sti :)
When I first bought the car I think I paid about £11,500, but will have to look through my old receipts to confirm this. The car had covered approx 20000 - 25000 kilometers. It didn't have a spoiler so I bought the one that is on, fitted the splitter/ wheels, full straight through Magnex exhaust and other suttle mods. I have had a few different sets of wheels on it over the years!

It was imported from Japan by a company and I just bought it from them. I didn't know much about Subaru's when I first bought it but when I had a test drive in it I knew it was the car for me and knew it was special. You didn't see many around when I first bought it!

As I was really into cars from a young age and it cost me so much to buy, I really looked after this car from day 1. I always serviced it, let warm up and cool down and ran it on super unleaded. I have friends who are mechanics and some got jobs at Subaru garages so they helped me out when they could. I have owned 35 other cars at least (from RX7s to 205 MI16) whilst owning this Subaru, so its had periods of being parked up whilst I used the other cars, this has kept the miles down though! I could just never bring myself to sell this one. I am just in the stage of bringing it back out at the moment as I have just sold my 2nd car (Evo 7) and am ready to use the Subaru again. This time I feel I may spend some money on it and do it justice by doing something really special to it??

jameswrx 10 August 2015 07:21 PM

Nice that you've had it so long, would be even nicer if you got rid of the old school max power wheels. They are Kahns or something aren't they? Needs some more appropriate rally car style rims and the V5 Sti rep spoiler ditching!

Is it original bodywork? Have the arches rotted?

01spen 10 August 2015 08:28 PM

Thanks for the comment Jameswrx!
Yes the wheels are Kahn! The bodywork is original and the rear arches have not rotted! I used to always wash inside the rear arches when I washed the car, especially behind the lip of the rear arches!

I am actually thinking about changing the wheels just at the moment but can't decide what wheels to change to? When I change the wheels I am also going to put some good semi slick tyres on too as they will suit the car!
If you have any good wheel suggestions please let me know, I am open to all suggestions to help me decide??
I am also thinking about increasing the power of the car too but not sure which way to go with things yet so again any suggestions for good mods and good Subaru tuning companies are appreciated!

rossyboy 10 August 2015 08:53 PM

Front bumper looks like it's from a UK car....those look like holes where the headlight washers would be?

...looks like it's from a facelift car too.

Jonesy 25 10 August 2015 10:03 PM

Lovely car... Imo anything over 17 Inch wheels are too large for a classic. Don't even like the 18 inch prodrive option on the p1...
Seriously though keeping a car in that condition for 18 years is something to be proud of. The majority are abused and left to rot.

silver-sub 10 August 2015 10:16 PM

18 years, that's some time.

Dvddan 10 August 2015 11:00 PM

Not 18 years but not far off

18 years, beats me, I've owned my 98 type r v4 from new, 55k on the clock. As standard as they come, it still has the original factory fitted STI exhaust, not bad considering it is 17 years old and still runs as well as it did from new, Amazing how these cars can last when looked after and left as standard :thumb:

01spen 10 August 2015 11:37 PM

Thanks Rossyboy, Jonesy 25, silver-sub and Dvddan for your comments!

Rossyboy you are right, the front bumber is not original, I forgot I changed it when I fitted the splitter and the front fog lights many moons ago! I no longer have the front bumper that was originally on the car! If I had known that I was going to have the car so long I may have kept it! I could find another though if it ever needed to go back to standard!

Jonesy 25 - I also think 18 inch wheels are a bit big for this car and 16 or 17 inch would be better with a slightly larger profile tyre. Back in the day though these wheels looked the part :) I think I read too many Max-Power magazines :) I used to always park about a foot away from the kerb so as not to scratch them! The wheels are still mint! It was hard to look after them with such low profile tyres! I will change the wheels as soon as I know which wheels to go for!

Dvddan - your car sounds really good and a good effort owning it for so long! Owning your car since new must be a great feeling and is something I would have loved to have done! I actually kept my original exhaust but got rid of it a few years ago as it had been in storage too long. You have done the right keeping yours standard. Cars kept standard is something I really appreciate much more since getting older. I would love to see some pictures of your car! I bet there are not many 1 owner standard cars like yours around, you have something special there and I bet some good memories in it too like me! Thank you for you comment good to know there are other owners who have owned their Subaru as long as me :)

Its really giving me the Subaru bug back joining this forum, really looking forward to doing some stuff to my Subaru this year now :)

Type-ra thanks for the picture! That's a great picture I really like it! :)

That is just how my car looked when I first picked it up. It brought back memories for me of picking my car up with no spoiler on it! It looks good though, I actually like it now with no spoiler and looking original the way it should look! That's a great line up of Subaru's! Its on a K reg too so one of the first one's! I Really like your RA its really good and in my favourite colour too! Its good your in Yorkshire, I should have joined this forum along time ago!

You don't need to pay to post pictures.
Just upload them to photobucket and then upload the IMG code your post.

Wow that is a long time, it took you long enough to find this site then lol

Dvddan 11 August 2015 01:06 PM

known of the site since it started

Hi Bud, known of the site since it started but never joined just lurked from time to time and my car has been locked away in the garage for nearly 6 years and has come back out to play.1 owner from new been in the country from early 99 full service history 55k on the clocks no mods what so ever.I have original Japanese paperwork all mot's always been serviced by power engineering and Surrey Scooby spares. Dyno tested in 99 at 297 bhp. Will be checking it again soon to see what she has lost but can't see it being much as the car has been well looked after and never thrashed around as I was 28 when I bought it so was sort of grown out of the boy racer stage

01spen 11 August 2015 02:56 PM

Hi Riiidaa - I like the look of the Speedline ST2 wheels, I will go check out his advert now!

The Speedline ST2 is a wheel I would consider and would look great on the RA with some semi slick tyres :) Thank you!

I have seen some really nice alloys I like called Rota Grid Drifts. Has anybody seen any of these alloys fitted to a WRX RA? This is another wheel I would maybe consider depending on how they look fitted?

the grids would be to wide for the standard car bud
