Power upgrades

After a bit of advice on upgrading the car over the next few months. Car in question is a hawk STI with forged engine. Currently running ~ 370/410. Mods just now are k&n panel filter, walbro fuel pump, 3"decat downpipe onto Blitz nur spec and mapped by Andy Forrest.

Looking to be running around the 450 bhp mark and high 400's to 500 lbs/ft. Not sure exactly how much I will need to uprate or change out. So far the only things on the list are MD321T, RCM induction and uprated injectors. Looking through some builds on here I see a lot of people go for the fuel lab FPR, 3 port boost solenoid and FMIC. Are these all neccesarry?

Ideally I want to do it right and get everything done at once so if anyone has any reccomendations on what else I'm likely to need then the advice is much appreciated.

I would look into wether your forged engine has a pinned block as that will limit you to an extent (not sure what the max is on an unpinned).

STI intercooler will run out of puff at the power you're aiming for so a fmic will be a must.

Alcatek/Syvecs ecu are also recommended at that power

As said, FPR, 800cc injectors and a decent branded fuel pump

Decent headers/up pipe will also be needed, RCM/GT spec or Harvey Trick

3 port boost solenoid is a basic requirement

Dont overlook the brakes and clutch, if you're looking for an 80bhp/100 torque upgrade are what you have up to the job?

Is the engine fully forged, or only forged pistons?

Engine is fully forged including pinned block. The brakes are just the standard sti brembos and the clutch is also standard. As I said im in no rush to get it all done and would rather do it right. What sort or brake and clutch upgrades Should I be looking at with the power levels?

Out of interest, what is a 'pinned block'?

Standard sti 2.5 block is semi closed deck and the liners are the weak point so the block has inserts/pins to add strength.

Clutch wise, stage 2 competition clutch and flywheel is a nice feel road clutch, more than capable of handling that power.

Brakes wise, talk to Godspeed/Aztec etc about decent disc and pad combinations, or think about an AP or K-sport 6 pot upgrade + 4 pot rear.

You wouldnt really need to upgrade the brakes as the brembos are pretty decent. I use the brembos with grooved discs and just put some CL5+ pads front and rear and they work extremely well. Stopping power with them is brilliant but are very squealy under light braking. You could also upgrade to a 2 piece floating disc, as mentioned though speak to the guys at godspeed and aztec they will sort you out :thumb:
