2.35 build cost

How much would I need to be looking at for a full 2.35 build including cdb. Sorry if this has been discussed before but I have searched and can't find an answer for a complete start to finish build. If someone has the time a shopping list would also be much appreciated. Cheers dave

How long is a piece of string, a decent block on standard bores is 1000-1200
Plus machining, plus components. Depends on what your building it for.
What are you building it for?
How much power would you like to run

Tidgy 03 August 2015 11:59 PM

got to a tuner and ask, expect 10k +

ditchmyster 04 August 2015 07:20 AM

As above, it's a how long is a piece of string question. The engine is only the beginning, the ancillaries and turbo,ECU will also cost a small fortune.

You really need to speak to a few tuners so they can get an idea of what it is you want and come up with a spec and price it all up for you.

The three I'd be talking to are;
Scooby Clinic
Engine Tuner
API

In no particular order, but as above expect to be at the very, very least £10k lighter and more realistically £15k by the time you have a car that runs stops and goes around corners as you'd want it to.

And if you want the best of everything probably double that.

I priced one up about 2 years ago, nothing mad, just a nice 500hp... £17k+

Newbaru 04 August 2015 08:05 AM

Check this out, 35k in parts alone I believe

Just for the engine :thumb:

IainMilford 04 August 2015 08:50 AM

£10-£15K on the engine itself (that's the long engine, no ancillaries) depending on overall spec, then up to £20-£30K by the time you add all the supporting mods to make full use of it, depending on the spec of the donor or project car it is all being fitted to.

ronjeramy 04 August 2015 08:52 AM

Did that include it built Banny? :)

Depends on starting point, but from standard car near 20k to get someone else to do it.

joe v3sti 04 August 2015 09:51 AM

What are you using the car for

frayz 05 August 2015 11:02 PM

My next build will be a 2.35

Dubzy 06 August 2015 01:42 AM

Definitely, can attest that my 2.1 was very good! So good that I'm building another one!

I'm so excited to get it back as I had a "basic" ODB standard cams etc etc etc build on the last one, that did 535+hp for 30k miles, the new one with the all singing and dancing heads and cdb etc I have high hopes for.....

It's the only option for you, so that its in keeping with the rest of the build :)
Which to be honest I've stopped commenting on, due to sounding like a stuck record. There's only so many times I can say I love it haha. Fair play to both you and Dave mate

Sounds good J, you'll have to let us know how you get on with that?
When will it be done by?
