Looking for my old STi6 Type-R WRC Ltd. W554 SYC

I sold my last Scoob back in 2005 and just wondered if anyone on here has it or has seen it at any events?
It has a flocked dash..

DVLA Database shows "no details found"

piehole1983 03 August 2015 11:55 PM

Cat C write off in May 2002 is all I can find

skoobidude 04 August 2015 07:45 AM

Thanks. Yeh I knew it was a Cat C (although it was sold to me as a Cat D but that's another story), and I ended up doing further restoration to it due to some hidden unfinished work.
I did manage to sell it on to a guy who lived about 10 miles away but never saw it again. Wish I'd kept his details now. Just interested in the fate of ths car really.

Remember the limited number? Try posing on type-ra.com as they have a register and may have it logged?

skoobidude 04 August 2015 10:34 PM

Thanks. Yes I think it was 486 but I'll need to check on old photos then I'll look on that website

Cheers

Let it go mate, once you sell a car like that to someone else then try and find out about where it is etc its like trying to find an ex so you can ask how hard she's been ****ed by other blokes.

skoobidude 05 August 2015 09:43 PM

Ha ha thanks.
Be assured I certainly do not want it back, just curious of it's fate.

paddyscoob 06 August 2015 05:28 AM

I bought it in 2006. Sadly it was wrote off in 2008. not my fault. I sold it and since then it has been reshelled and has a had a full 22b kit fitted. It was for sale about 6 months ago for £17500. Far as I know it was bought by someone in england and is back across the water. Great car. I absolutely loved it.

Very nice

Always loved this car, but £17.5k for a Cat C car, was the new owner aware???

skoobidude 07 August 2015 02:59 PM

Wow that car has been through some interesting transformations..
I originally sold it to a guy in north Derbyshire (15miles from me) back in '05 and never saw or heard from it again..
The engine was rebuilt due to knocking whilst i had it using an STi8 unit up at Scoobyclinic. Had a new clutch, rolling roaded etc and then I lost interest as it cleared my wallet so I sold.
Was a great car at the time. Interesting it has a big tailpipe on it again in the pictures as i sold an HKS unit and swapped it for a quieter Scoobysport :)

What caused the accident?

paddyscoob 07 August 2015 03:19 PM

The engine went a year after I bought it. Bottom end as usual. So I rebuilt it wiith a closed deck block and swapped over the heads etc. A driver lost control on a bend and collided with me. I was gutted. But I was glad to be able to walk away from it. Was it stickered when you owned it?

skoobidude 07 August 2015 05:16 PM

Can't believe the engine went again. I ran it in with no boost and restricted revs, swapped oil at 500 miles, again at 1000 etc. Then had it remapped for optimax and to suit the decat which was on it. All quite anal but what us Scooby guys do to love our cars.
However, I guess it may have done some mileage since I sold it in '05.

There was only a scoobysport banner across the windshield when i first had it but that went following a screen change after a stone hit it. Poor car seems to attract bad luck. Such a beast though. Loving those dials and front mount.
I was never 100% happy with handling and it always seemed the rear camber looked out, but i didn't get as far as sorting that. Mainly i think the 18s were too grippy.
What was it running at in the end?

Glad you got out of it ok and good that airbag deployed. I was never sure about that big steering wheel and quite fancied a smaller aftermarket one, like a Momo

skoobidude 07 August 2015 05:20 PM

The rest of the car had no stickers. The WRX sticker wasn't on the boot and there was a Type R rather than 'RA' sticker. RAs are 4-door so i guess that was wrongly badged at aome point

skoobidude 07 August 2015 05:21 PM

I'll dig out some pictures from when I had it during the weekend and share

paddyscoob 07 August 2015 08:27 PM

this is when I bought it
