HARD CLUTCH PEDAL...???

I recently had brand new OEM clutch master AND slave cylinders fitted, to try to cure a fault where, sometimes, the pedal would stick at the bottom of its travel after depressing it. I would then have to use the instep of my left foot to hoik it back into position.

I'm happy to say, that the new cylinders and bleed etc have completely got rid of that annoyance...... But now at the expense of a completely new, different, one!

What happens is that, sometimes, when coming to standstill and idling for a while (like in a traffic jam or at lights), the clutch pedal can go really stiff - almost 'rock hard'. It still works and goes through all its travel etc., but is just really stiff; you really have to use that calf lol. I'm guessing it must feel like a 4-puck paddle clutch's pedal lol.

I'm assuming it must be getting hydraulically 'pumped up' somehow(?). And it's defo related to having the cylinders replaced; as it never happened at all with the existing ones.

The pedal stiffness does seem to go back to normal again, after further driving (but it's normally after a while). And it always 'resets' after parking up for a bit (before going out in it again).

Any ideas?

Do you have free travel ?

Yes, it still travels freely through all of its range and works the clutch correctly etc. Just that it (sometimes) goes really hard under the circumstances stated. (It sometimes takes me by surprise and I nearly stall it).
