New Member and I Need Advice
That's it guys........I have given in and finally joined ScoobyNet.
I have a 2006 Widetrack Hawkeye which is a one owner, Full SSH from the same dealer and completely original from new besides a couple of cosmetic changes. I thought I would never touch the engine or exhaust but I need a little more speed. Should I leave it alone or get a remap? Is 90,000 miles too high to start messing with the engine, even though it has never missed a beat and I only use it maybe once a week. It has only done 10,000 miles in the last 5 years. Any advice would be welcome! |
widetrack hawk? you mean STI?
at 90k if you planning on keeping it for a while then look at an engine refresh and upgrade rods, pistons, head studs and head gasket before you start tuning it |
Yes STI crystal grey.
I was worried you'd say that about the engine. It's been perfect and starts and runs every time even though it sits a week at a time. That's why I asked should I leave it for the sake of an extra 50+bhp. |
leave be would be my advice if you don't wanna refresh, yes you might well get away with it, but personally i wouldn't want to risk it
