Any thoughts about this build 2003 wrx 355hp?

Hey guys,

As you might know from previous posts, im doing my best to find a very good subbie as a new daily car.

Once again i found a gem!

Or atleast it feels like it !

This time a 2003 WRX with around 100.000 kms and a build block. Full of expansive mods and quality A products. The engine was build around 40.000 kms ago.

Specs:

Build 2 liter engine.

ACL bearings, STI rods.
Sti pink injectors
vf35 turbo
Tial 44m external wastegate
apexi air intake
autobahn88 fmic

Whiteline stage 3 undercarriage
5kg flywheel
STI 6 speed gearbox
New clutch
open exhaust HKS hi power

Mapped by Ace motorsports at 355 bhp

The car looks very clean,
The owner is selling it because he is looking to buy a bmw m5.

Ofcourse i would like to know your guys opinions!

Selling price is 14.000 euros, could maybe drop it a bit.

And as bonus:

A new build 2.1 stroker engine

- 2.0 STI Closed Deck bottomblock
- 2.5 STI crank
- higher compression (8:1 > 8.9:1)
- Wiseco pistons
- Eagle rods
- ARP bolts (all)
- ACL bearings (all)
- Cometic steel headgaskets
- STI air/oil seperation plate
- STI timing belt guiders
- Gates stronger timing belt
- Complete distributie (ca. 20k km oud)
- Legacy Phase 2 DOHC Single AVCS heads
- STI in- en out exhaustvalves
- JUN titanium valveretainers
- STI valvesprings
- Originele MY00 camshaft (enige originele in het blok :P)
- Cosworth baffleplate
- new carterpan

I had to translate it to english so sorry if things arent translated that well.

Anyway, the engine will be around 3000 euro if i would take it.

My goal is a daily driver with a reliable engine that is also a fast and fun streetcar.

I will be using it in the rain, some days of year maybe even snow.

My goal is 350-400hp.

So maybe the stroker engine is overkill. 355 bhp seems good enough but maybe the stroker engine can handle this and maybe even more and be more reliable?

I hope you to see you guys opinions!

Not sure why it has a VF35 and an external wastegate? VF turbos are internally gated as far as I know....unless it's been welded up..... but can't really see the point for a VF35.

You could buy a nice widetrack STI in the UK and convert it to LHD and import it for that sort of money, and you'd probably not lose anything come sale time judging by your prices over there.

That car just looks awful in my eyes 90's throw back or fast and furious wanabe, fine if you like that sort of thing, but it will always be a tarted up WRX and it's probably worth 5k here only because it has a 6 speed and would break for reasonable money.

But hey your taste, your money.:thumb:

Or the option I would choose, buy the Type R, convert to LHD (if that really bothers you) and buy the 2.1 stroker engine and drop that in with a 350bhp capable turbo, that will be a proper street weapon and worth a lot more in a few years.

Thank god the rims are done with plastidip. The orange look awefull.

Also would probably change the hood to white again and the front bumper.

Other than that i like how it looks,

But the most important is the engine build and undercarriage. Wich seem to be quite good with this car.

The prices are crazy i know, but thats what most of them go around here :(

The problem with importing is that i wont be able to see it or testdrive it

Plus the additional costs of importimg the car, wich i have no clue how much that will be. Probably around 2k?

And yes i know its expansive but the prices here

And about the wastegate and vf35, i have no clue tbh mate ^_^

The type R lhd swap with stroker engine sounds sick!

But probably very expansive!

Do they even convert them to lhd's?

Aye that one looks well good,

Though not completely my style as its standard and blue, but the stronger revised engine and twin scroll turbo etc etc sound really good.

Just curious when the engine was revised as it already has quite some miles on it. (Ofcourse when taken good care off it can run many many more)

Is this car in this spec capable of 350bhp+ aa daily driver?

Thanks dude.

I do prefer black or white paint but ofcourse the engine and state of the car are most important!

Tidgy 29 July 2015 11:13 AM

bug and blobs have pretty solid engines from the factory, about the strongest you can get out he box, 400 will be fine on em

Vatosbart 29 July 2015 03:39 PM
