nah only joking, its a difficult one. How do you I actually people needing asylum as opposed to those who just want it a bit better?

You really deport them if they've claimed asylum

At some point you have to do something to discourage the people-smugglers who are getting rich at the expense of the people trying to get here this way, so I'm all in favour.

Stop all ferries and the euro tunnel to Calais until they have gone. The loss of trade and business will soon press the French into seeing things "our" way.

We were quick enough stopping travel to Tunisia....so why not Calais?

That would be the end of our freight haulage as well though wouldn't it ?

What makes me laugh is that they are illegal immigrants on French soil so why are the French not locking them up and deporting them?.....

So's sitting parked up on the M20 for days on end. Shutting down Calais would at least stop the backlog at our end and ensure travellers and hauliers know calais is a no-go location and cross the channel via other ports;

Cherbourg
Zeebrugge
Bilboa
Santander

Etc.

OK its a short term solution as migrants will move to there, but in the meantime it will give rest bite so that Calais can realise the harm its doing to itself and reinforce itself.

I come through france a couple of weeks back as i was driving back from spain, we went to the ferry port at dieppe to get the ferry back to the uk, there was only 4 immigrants there and all of them got nicked for trying to climb the gates, maybe they should send people here instead.
