Spec C intercooler spray

So I feel this question is probably a stupid one but I just want to make sure having never done it before... The intercooler water tank in my spec c needs refilling, is it just normal tap water or should I be putting anything else in it? I would check the manual but I don't speak Japanese :p

Depends if you get proper water out of your tap or that English stuff with scales innit

Rescue Dude 25 July 2015 12:50 PM

Tap water is fine.

Rescue Dude 25 July 2015 12:53 PM

Or if you're not anal, tap water which is free.

Thanks for the comments, I was thinking about hard vs soft water but we have a water softener so water from that would be good?

I couldn't agree more, I've been to Scotland loads of times, your water is better than bottled stuff!.....and then some.

Use de-ionized water if possible.

For the sake of a few quid, it'll prevent your engine bay getting covered in mineral deposits that can corrode the aluminium parts and generally make a mess.
