Everyone will laugh at you :D

Alot of members on here are dv haters, but i think theres alot worse mods in this world than dump valves.

Yeh lets all dump metered air out and let it over fuel and run like crap and sound like the number 49 bus going past.

I'm fitting a dump valve but will be remapping the engine, but its what i like. Theres plenty of tools slapping on body kits and fake carbon fibre wrap, massive jap exhausts, decals. We could make a list of stupid mods, but at the end of the day a dump valve is pretty low on the list of chavy mods.

Loudest and cheapest one you can find, don't worry if it's fake or not as they're all made in China in the same factory anyway. if your car starts to hesitate under acceleration after you fit it just floor it, the ECU will re-program it's self and that fuel smell is nothing to worry about. :thumb:

Haha. That made me chuckle.
Last year I had some upgrades on my car, one of which was an induction kit.
Driving home when I accelerated hard and then took my foot of the accelerator the car "Tssssshed" at me.
As soon as I got home I phoned the garage.
"Why have you put a dump valve on my car?!"

It was then explained to me that it was the induction kit. On a scale of 1 to muppet I certainly felt like I was at the higher end of that scale.

Thankfully you have to really floor it to get this Tsssshed noise so driving to and from the shops it's quiet.


I think worse than a real dump valve are those electronic dump values for none turbo cars....just to get the noise! :wonder:

NONE of the other mods you list will make your car run rich, cause possible engine damage and make you sound like a tool.

There's a middle-aged guy down my road with a very tidy Celica GT4 but with a noisy dump valve:facepalm:

Love my dump valve.... No damage to my engine from it at all :)

EDIT - Mine isnt standard so dont try fitting it if you have a maf...

I loved mine too when i was 17 im now 39 and drive an hgv and got to listen to that stupid release of air every few mins, drives me nuts lol

Neither will a dv if its been remapped.

I've had enough turbo power cars, all with dv's all ran fine. Most cars i know that have failed was due retard owners, spending more time on fitting decals and farting around with styling mods. But not bothering to service there car regularly.

We call them chav valves in my part of the world.
It has no benefits what so ever :nono:
But the people who have them are probably on benefits :D

And how do you remap a car so that it knows when metered air has been discharged to the atmosphere, not used, pray tell?

Its ok the stick on roof vent catches all the dumped air and turns it into 50bhp

Guessing you mean please tell, i'm not going to get involved in a long debate over Dump Valves. I know what your going to say, that by fitting a dump valve you will get some unburnt fuel dumped though the exhaust system, but in the same breath how many people pay good money to have have there cars mapped to pop and bang away.

Then you have people fitting induction kits, don't get me started on them.

I'd also like to add, i have never fitted a vta on any car, they all came with them fitted, or i wouldn't have bothered myself.

This IS a dump valve and its already on the car it does what its meant to do.

Very useful info.. the standard dump valve might work but will it cope fine with increased boost? i've heard scoobies make turbo chatter (the air going the wrong way through the turbo as its got nowhere to go) which is harmful for your compressor or must they have been DV deleted?). My mates turbo used to chatter allot and even though it sounded awesome it caused his compressor to wobble after long enough! So this is very interesting, going to have to look at removing mine (Baileys was fitted when i bought the car) and putting the standard one back on!

From what I've heard/read the standard DV will cope with around 400BHP however, I'm still tempted to upgrade to a forge recirc DV anyway.

That would be ideal for me as i'm only aiming for 300. But the forged re-circ do look nice (even though they are expensive).. tempting!

Got a Forge recirc on mine, 2.5 forged running over 400/400

Another Forge recirc here (the v.3/4 version). Running 384/349 with no issues.

They're a quality bit of kit.

The air is spat back into the turbo actually helping it from stalling, forge recycle one on mine as im running a fair amount of boost
