As others have said a S202 should have all its special parts to make it worth, otherwise it's not worth the extra money IMHO. I wouldn't buy it either.
You can see the difference in the seats below. S202 ones: http://www.esperformance.co.uk/car_I...06__index.php# Standard STi seats http://torque-gt.co.uk/wordpress/wp-...40-590x443.jpg |
Thanks for that - yes, very clear. I have emailed them this morning advising I no longer wish to proceed and requesting deposit refund.
|
Let us know how you get on with the deposit refund.
|
Out of interest, did you get the VIN ??
would be interesting to see what it's listed as. |
Okay, I've emailed them and Tristan has agreed to refund my deposit without delay. He understood my concerns and explained that being the only S202 they've imported for 14 years, they were unaware of the changes from OEM spec. He also gave me the chassis number to show that it did roll off the production line as an S202. It's GDB013482

So it's a Spec C RA then Don? Hmm bit of a minefield for anyone who's unfamiliar. I'm getting tempted to stick with my FD2 lol!

Sorry late back to this and has moved on. You can see the V7 seats are different ... same as the Spec C RA but black :) Crazy comfy and supportive. The ones in your pic from what you can see could be WRX ones or WR1 type ones difficult to tell. Its a nice motor to be fair and will still have the oil cooler, caster benefits lightweight parts that most people miss, titanium back box... the list goes on... the issue for me would be if you wanted to invest in an S202 you could do better as the missing parts are unobtainably expensive :)

Early "S" versions didn't have their own designation (S204 first one) in the database as they were based on the spec C.

Yeah, I meant Spec C ones.

Okay - thanks for everybody's help on this. To sum up then - a genuine S202 but with a few parts removed/substituted. I wasn't looking for an investment opportunity really but if I am to pay a bit of a premium for an S202, I'd obviously want it to be as close to standard as possible. I've explained to Torque GT that if the car doesn't sell and they can source some OEM wheels, fog covers and seats, I'd still be interested

there is this S202 in Yorkshire also although personally have no info on the car

Thanks for that link Alyn. Yes, I'm aware of that one and Tom actually sent me some pics over. It looks good and very OEM although I was hoping to find a slightly lower mileage car and Tom has indicated that the lacquer on the rear spoiler is peeling, also that the roof vent needs repainting. All doable of course but I was really wanting something that didn't need any work doing if possible.

doesnt look like titanium backbox to me either.
