airleak

I have a stutter and random misfire when i drive the car in the morning till it heats up just looked at my boost gauge its sitting at 0.2 vac at idle could my problem be airleak

Depends where your gauge take off is but if its after your throttle body so is the leak/problem.

peter zippy reid 10 July 2015 06:13 AM

Its plumbed into recirc valve hose so if it is a leak where should i be looking cheers

1509joe 10 July 2015 09:16 AM

If its a standard sort of set up after the throttle body and associated pipework attached to the manifold what speed is it idling at.

peter zippy reid 10 July 2015 09:23 AM

My rev counter is sitting at 700rpm warm idle and boost gauge is 0.2 but today it sat at 0.8

1509joe 10 July 2015 10:00 AM

Possibly a sticky throttle body what was it idling at when reading -0.2.

peter zippy reid 10 July 2015 10:22 AM

Sits at 700 but from cold start it goes 1500 down to 1000 then up and down two or three times before settling down

1509joe 10 July 2015 01:20 PM

That sounds like MAF related but doesn't explain the vacuum problem could turn into something more sinister.

peter zippy reid 10 July 2015 02:03 PM

If it is maf would the problem only happen when cold as when the car heats up theres no juddering or misfire just a slight flatspot at 3000rpm

1509joe 10 July 2015 02:08 PM

That would probably sound about right borrow a good MAF and try it first still doesn't explain the vacuum issue.

Will do thanks for info

Decided to check for coded even though i dont have eml on got a code p0335 could this be issue

1509joe 10 July 2015 07:29 PM

If its running I wouldn't worry about that one. CPS.

peter zippy reid 10 July 2015 07:44 PM

But i read this
NOTE: If the crank sensor is used only for misfire detection and NOT spark timing (this varies with the vehicle), the vehicle should start and run with MIL (Malfunction indicator lamp) illumination. Also, some vehicles require several key cycles to illuminate the MIL. If this is the case, there may be no MIL illumination until the problem often enough over time. If the crank sensor is used for BOTH misfire detection and spark timing, the vehicle may or may not start. Symptoms may include: Vehicle may not start (see above) Vehicle may run rough or misfire MIL illuminates

Just rechecked my code its giving p0335 but it gives me cam position bank 1 as my obd tells you what code means
But on google it says cps
