What is the best fuel???

Hi,

Recently purchased my Subaru Impreza wrx sti 2010 model. Was wondering what is the best fuel to put in it?

Tesco momentum 99 would be the easiest option for me as its closest and easily available but want to make sure its the right one to use...

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers

personaly i prefer vpower, but tesco 99 should be fine.

I only use Super Unleaded from either Shell or, if I'm desperate, BP. Don't trust supermarket fuels or those from the likes of Esso, Jet and Texaco. It may be just paranoia, but I've never had any issues.

Have read a couple of post on here that also say that Tesco Momentum 99 is ok too use as its 99 Ron, does say on filler cap tho to use 98 Ron in it. I assume it is betterto have more than less???

Thanks for quick reply tho.

I thought bp ultimate was 98 to 100 ron.

Soup 01 July 2015 06:13 PM

Didn't know that about bp ultimate. I always use vpower tbh but was considering trying bp ultimate the other day as its closer to my house deffo won't now tho!

Dont use bp fuel! Id rather try and run mine on water than that crap, wont go wrong with vpower or tesco momentum

b3nmw 01 July 2015 07:09 PM

Shell vpower in mine. Think ur options will either be she'll vpower or tesco momentum

bustaMOVEs 01 July 2015 07:54 PM

You could always get your car remapped for standard 95RON unleaded and save yourself some pennies :lol1:

Scooby_Lee101 03 July 2015 03:06 PM

vpower/ tesco momentum only everything else is a no go.

given some of the crap in 95 Ron tanks then just don't bother.

Besides, why buy a performance car and worry about saving £2 a tank? May as well have bought a diesel

98 ron fuel

There is a fuel in the UK that is 98 ron..its found at a small number of 'Gleaner' garages in north of Scotland. Thurso and Kyle do it. As there isn't a Shell north or west of Inverness you may need to use it!

This is exactly my argument against anyone saying they just use Unleaded.

I remember having a conversation with a woman at work saying that I only put V Power in my car. She thought it was funny that I only put the best fuel in my car but will eat junk food, etc. good point I thought :)

Dirk Diggler 75 05 July 2015 07:22 PM

v power for me ....

**jay** 05 July 2015 08:57 PM

If you have tesco momentum close by id be using that, i run my 460bhp car on it as well as vpower and it was fine, would not be using anything less than 99ron or asking for trouble

Hi there

We're run mostly Tesco 99 and we are never have any issue with Tesco fuel,we are run too V-Power with which we are have few bad experiences, but most mappers would say,V-Power is more consistent than Tesco fuel, but in my case Tesco has been more consistent and we are have much better fuel economy on Tesco

And BP,this I wouldn't put to my car,its not worth putting this

Hope this helps

Thanks,Jura
