This heatwave.........

Oh come on NSR! No thread about our heatwave yet? Didn't you know it's meant to be the hottest day of the decade? :lol1: You elderly folk need to remember to drink plenty of liquids and seek shade at all times :thumb:. Are you enjoying this lovely weather? As my house is right next to a farm I can't open my windows during the day due to flies which will drive me mad therefore I am sweating just sitting in my living room! Popping to Argos later to get a few fans and will be looking into fitted window fly screens...

Matteeboy 01 July 2015 01:34 PM

Foggy and thundery here!

Rusti 01 July 2015 01:45 PM

totally scorchio here on the south coast. Glad the office has air con :)

ALi-B 01 July 2015 01:47 PM

Its pretty cool today compared to yesterday; Car was saying 36degrees yesterday.

But of course London boasting its 34degrees today means that somehow the whole of the UK is now hotter today.

Should have installed aircon in that nice new build of yours.

I had an evapoorative fan few yrs ago. Filled the water reservoir with cold water or ice and lovely cool air came out. Nearly as good as a/c

I was thinking about that yesterday, ahhh heins sight eh? I bet it would have cost a lot to have integrated A/C though. Hopefully by next year I will have all my windows fitted with fly screens which means at least I can get a draft blowing through.

hodgy0_2 01 July 2015 02:46 PM

on days like this you really appreciate working from home

bobby chang 01 July 2015 02:48 PM

My car has a/c, my office has a/c, my living room has a/c, my bedroom has a/c, :D

Matteeboy 01 July 2015 02:58 PM

I have been in Spain for the last week and a half, it's been mid 30's every day one day in direct sun it was over 60 degrees - we have been staying in lol.

Soup 01 July 2015 05:10 PM

Stuck in a van all day at work with no aircon lucky me

Lillyart14 01 July 2015 06:03 PM

Feel sorry for those stuck on the Coastbound M2 and M20 motorways. Both have 'incidents' (although the M20 looked nasty, car went into the back of a low-loader and destroyed the front half). Took me an hour and a half to get back from Dartford to Gillingham.

Tidgy 01 July 2015 06:06 PM

roasting today, 38 when i got in the car, though it would drop top low 30's, didnt stayed above 35 :o

LSherratt 01 July 2015 06:18 PM

Just made a trip into town to get a tower fan. Stepping out of an air conditioned car felt like stepping out of an aeroplane at a hot foreign airport! Reminded me exactly of that holiday feeling. 35 degrees C in Gloucester.

b3nmw 01 July 2015 07:10 PM

Feels really sticky

Same here in the SE. Managed to get down to 36 after starting at 39.

alcazar 01 July 2015 08:45 PM

Done Zeebrugge>Limoges today.

On leaving the ship at 0933, it was 27 deg.
On the N104 skirting Paris, it touched 39 at one point.

Was still 37.5 near Limoges at 1735 when I arrived.

NO fruit: no strawberries, no raspberries, no wild strawberries.
Been too hot for therm according to my neighbour. She hasn't any either...but the blackcurrants, which I LOATHE, are loaded.

ALi-B 01 July 2015 09:09 PM

Bloody van overheated on me today.

OK, there's no fins on the radiator (corrosion) and now the cooling fan has packed in.

So, 34degrees...heater on full. Lets just say I'm a little bit sweaty :D

I'm loving it! :)

Isolated Welsh beaches like this one are so inviting in such heat! .....

I lost my flip flops there yesterday in soggy sands, when I was attempting to get closer to the distant sea. :(
