U.S. Supreme Court ruling legalising same-sex marriage.

An opportunity for a section of the society to be legally re-humanised, I suppose. World is changing.

Well, ok.

As a Christian I've reasoned thus:

As an observer I think that some of the LGBT movement need to guard against becoming as bigoted and hate-filled as the bigoted, hate-filled religious right. Some of the former are putting on displays like this:

As insensitive and ignorant as the 'God hates fags' brigade.

Ultimately I support the right of LGBTs to enter in to a legally recognised partnership, but, as per my link above, to refer to this union as a 'marriage' is untenable if we're to recognise marriage as that which is ordained by God. If the definition is a secular one (after all, language evolves) then so be it - my view really does hinge upon the given definition of marriage. It would seem that the Supreme Court's opted for a secular definition.

The key here (looking at the dynamic above) is that LGBTs show love to Christians and that Christians show love to LGBTs. Just because we may disagree on a principle or a definition does not mean we should hate one another. Love is the law.

I'd put it much more simply, it shows they're maturing as a country, which generally has to be a good thing.

Good for them, but I won't be jumping on bandwagon to put a rainbow filter on my Facebook profile!

I'm very open minded but I have a few bi-sexual friends of both sexes who had phase and maybe in a few cases marriage wasn't the best option.
