New MY15 Deals

Hi all, been away from Scoobynet for some time now and couldn't quite work out username/password but that's another story.

I am really interested in moving on from my 2004 STI to something newer and looking at the new 2015 STI. Might be looking at the PCP option but wondering if anyone has recently been able to grab a good deal or even negotiate on the current offer Subaru are running.

Appreciate any help.

Will you be buying out right or finance?

Tidgy 17 June 2015 12:43 PM

new one still has same old 2.5 issues so personaly i wouldn't bother given subaru's reaction to it

Link/proof?

Genuinely interested btw......

Would be finance only option.

legb4rsk 17 June 2015 06:35 PM

Why would you even consider a STi?
The new Ford RS 4wd looks like it will be a much better car.

I know it's an old block design (shortly to be made obsolete) but I'm surprised that Subaru wouldn't have fixed these 'issues' on the 2.5 by now surely?!

i quote, 'the 2.5 has no problems'

subaru washed their hands of it mate, they blame eveything from tuning, to poor maintenance to over reving, but still wont admit it has problems.

CarWOW is your friend if you want one should easily get £1200-£1500 although some dealers will tell you there is a shortage on allocation.

A few? come on, its one really isn't it which was run on 95ron fuel, as you well know! lol if there are any others, i'd love to see some solid proof and what was actually wrong with them, rather than just your hearsay ;)

Charlie boy 2 18 June 2015 12:22 AM

I'll give Carwow a try so thanks for that.

I have had scoobies for nearly 13 years in one form or another and each time a derivative comes out there is always some negativity. There is a lot to be said about the dealers when buying other cars and the arrogance that comes from going into a BMW or Audi dealer with a cocky salesman I just can't deal with. On the flip side Subaru dealers give me the time and day ( and take my money obviously)

Though I do like the sound of the Audi RS 3 ironically...

Yea exactly tuned and then run on 95 lol

Right, we all know you're a massive clinic fanboy, probably just searching for potential piston forging business on their behalf :lol1:

FFS its got nothing to do with touting for business. Its an observation about the engine compared to the old one.

Why is it when any one says anything bad about the new model you get all stroppy? Feeling a bit insecure about what you have bought are you?

And why is showing loyalty to a business seen in a derogatory way? I pitty you for not having that loyalty as a character trait.

bioforger 18 June 2015 10:49 AM

lol it was a joke, calm down.

I aint stroppy and why have you started to slag off the 2.5 at any given opportunity? Seeing as you are putting one in your own car, it seems a bit strange.

Nope not at all as mine has a 5yr warranty that covers the mechanicals and a proper remap, i wouldn't have bought it without that included in the package otherwise :)

fair enough, my bad lol

built right, 2.5 is a cracking road engine for up to 450bhp reliably, its out he box they are crack because of the components in them :thumb:

I actually like the look of the new Scooby but there are so many betters cars out there nowadays. Golf R, RS3, A45 & Focus RS
Think most people that buy that Subaru are buying it because they like the brand & its heritage.

bioforger 18 June 2015 01:00 PM

Golf R is dull as fook, have you actually tried either? I have, STi > Golf R, RS3 and A45 are in a different league and 15-20K more expensive, so you cant really compare.

Exactly this ^.

Though I would like to test drive the new Focus RS when it eventually comes out to compare......

I understand how the Golf R might feel dull, as with the DSG the car pretty much drives itself(as most new cars with flappy paddles do) and it so smooth on gear changes and power delivery it makes a very quick car, Standard STi v Standard Golf R the Golf R is quicker in a straight line no doubt about it, plus the Golf R is a better/cheaper car to tune, dont forget a £400 tuning box gives the Golf R 360bhp and 0-60 in 3.9, and the best thing is its only £180 road tax a year:D a basic no added options Golf R is £30k brand new which is near the same as the STi.

bioforger 18 June 2015 06:13 PM

But again its more expensive than the STi and its a golf which doesn't even come in a fancy frock lol.

It has the same power as the STi and less torques, the 0-60 is pretty much the same. Over a quarter its a bit quicker due as you say to the DSG. When i tried one it just didn't feel as quick as a standard STi.

Road tax, mmm fair point lol

Cheap road tax & good fuel economy. Also the new Focus will be same kind of money as the Scooby & is likely to be better in every department.

Charlie boy 2 18 June 2015 09:33 PM

I have seen 3.7% off so far which is around £1100 so a good start.
