ECUTEK removal

My 03 JDM STI has the ECUTEK map on and I want it removed to go open source,so I need it reverting back to a standard map,can this be done and if so what sort of money we talking by a reputable mapper?
Thanks,Andy

Why switch back to open source? After the license fee is paid cost is the same.

Ecutek is better than open source imo

Buy a second-hand standard ecu? Then you're covered if you decide to go back to Ecutek.

My car has an ECUTEK map and I have the invoice for £600, can anyone able to map ecutek do it or does it have to go to the original place?

License stays with car. Have to be a full map if you go somewhere else, but not have to oay the fee again

Do some mappers not lock the ECU, to prevent others mapping it?

All depends on the mapper.
As above ECUTEK is far superior with support. Open source is normally unrefined and little to no support.
If you really want to change swap the ECUs thus not to loose the licence or run the risk of bricking an ECUTEK ready ECU.
