Tyre size

What's the widest tyre size you can run on standard sti newage alloys ?

If they are 8J - 235

If they are 7.5 - 225 or lower

Tyre manufacturers specify a range of rim widths for a given tyre....

E.G. R888 225/45/17 fits 7" to 8.5" rims. ( Ideal 7.5" )
And the 235/45/17 fits 7.5 to 9" rims. ( Ideal 8" )

IMHO, the over wide tyres won't handle better as the sidewalls will be non-optimum on a narrower rim.
