Your favourite place for hot drinks?

So whats your favourite place for hot drinks, i've tried Caffe Nero, Costa and Starbucks and alot of my friends like star bucks, now to be honest i've tried there drinks a few times now and don't like them at all.

I prefer Costa or Caffe Nero, i just wondered what the Scoobynet public like?

No particular one , too poor

I'd actively steer round a Starbucks though

They have a menu:wonder:

For decent coffee to a decent standard and at a very good price, you'd be doing well to beat MaccyD's.

Builders tea for me 2 sugar and milk steaming hot in a mug about 3p keep your £3 costa coffee

Lisawrx 20 May 2015 12:08 AM

Home. :thumb:

The only place I ever pay for tea (unless I'm at some sort of event, then I'd just make do) is Greggs, and that's only because it's next door to work, so handy if I want a hot drink on my break. It's OK, and cheap. It's well over double at Costa and their tea is no better imo.

DanGlennon 20 May 2015 05:51 AM

McDonald's for s cappuccino, couldn't see myself in a starbucks or costa anytime soon

Matteeboy 20 May 2015 09:17 AM

No chains near us but several cafes do decent coffee; usually a weapons grade flat white.

Costa isn't bad. Nero is okay but the staff all seem to think they're too cool for school. Starbucks has improved a bit.

An0n0m0us 20 May 2015 09:58 AM

Costa just for their Mocha :thumb: Otherwise if it's just a coffee i'll get a free Cappuccino from Waitrose, can't get better than free.

ditchmyster 20 May 2015 09:58 AM

Even with all these coffee chain stores the UK in general hasn't got a clue how to make a decent coffee, all my friends that travel to the UK say the coffee is terrible and I have to agree.

Large macchiato for me, but I've never found a place in the UK that can make one. :lol1:

Matteeboy 20 May 2015 10:01 AM

I think some have the right idea; one local place has won a couple of big Barista awards.

I do like decent coffee but it's usually far better abroad. One of the joys of going away; great coffee, good food, decent cheap wine!

ReallyReallyGoodMeat 20 May 2015 10:20 AM

You've missed Pret from the list.

Not that I would choose it - every time I have had a coffee from there it tasted burnt and not at all nice. I genuinely would prefer a Greggs coffee.

jaygsi 20 May 2015 10:23 AM

Which country are they from? Can't really comment as not really had coffee when been abroad, normally to hot.

You can wait for them too cool down...

TonyG 20 May 2015 10:42 AM

Either at home or at my desk at work. At least then I can be sure I'm getting what I want and how I like it rather than some over-frothed brown suff with a strange name.

jaygsi 20 May 2015 10:59 AM

Lol people are showing there age here.

neil-h 20 May 2015 12:28 PM

That poll really needs the option for multiple votes. I tend to use Costa when i'm at work because it's partially subsidised (so half the price of the high street) but when I'm out and about I'd go to an indy (unless I'm in a hurry).
