2008 legacy diesal
 

Looking at replacing my missus l200 warrior with one of these. What's people experience with them any common faults, seem to be good cars as what I've read and not to bad price wise being £3500 to £7000 higher being second hand dealer price

2008- 2010 derv Legacys suffered from weak main bearings, and silicon in oil ways; otherwise a great car. Pacenote on here had a complete failure, so look for a rebuilt one if possible. I had a 10 plated 09, remapped, and the gearbox gave up at 3 years old and 32000 miles. Having said that, every time I drove it, it put a smile on my face.

So nothing major then :/ what they like power wise they feel pokey still? just looking at a good more economical replacement for the l200 yet still able to tow my mx bike about. The question is now finding one for good price and selling the truck

I looked into these as i really fancied one but ended up being put off by the engine rebuild issues, modern diesels are generally a scary enough prospect with the price of injectors, turbos, DMF but add on main bearing issues and it just didn't seem worth it which is a great pitty. There's far more owners over in the states which have lots of trouble, it seems the engines are good for 80-100k but almost always seem to go in the end.

Yep the earlier diesels were a bit rubbish; one went past earlier and it sounded dreadful.
Get a petrol and save on fixing stuff. Had our 2006 2.5 manual Outback (beefed up Legacy) about four months now and it's great; a bit thirsty but it'll last forever.
