replacing various bolts
 

is there an easy way to find new bolts to replace the ones that would be removed doing various jobs on the car.

caliper bolts, bumper bolts and basically any other bolt

i think icp probably do them all but trying to find them on there takes ages

Yes they are in Germany and yes postage is 16 euros. But there is no VAT or import duty to pay and all parts are about 10% cheaper then the UK dealer anyway. It's not worth it for one bolt but is for larger orders.

I have used them three times and top service every time.

They can get pretty much every part and I have even checked my prices against uk dealers and they are genuinely 10% cheaper.

As for using generic bolt companies yes you can for little bits and bobs inside the car or in the bay but for brakes and suspension etc there are so many variables you won't match them with generic bolts.

P.s. if I sound bitter about UK dealers it's because in the past I have had to ring 8 times to actually get somebody take my order (parts department is always busy then forget to ring me back), the last bolts I tried to order were out of stock and I was only allowed to order 20 of them when I wanted 2. When some simple bolts are £5 each that's a bit steep! And a lambda sensor was £240 when the same exact genuine Denso sensor from Opie was £80. Oh and they refused to provide me with part number despite £1000's spent by me with them over the past eight years on parts. So now although Subaru still get my business the UK dealers do not.

What about taking off all the old bolts and getting them zinc plated - much cheaper and you know you'll have the right ones :thumb:

I googled bapps and it bought up something completely different....on the other hand rallytech were running a group buy on engine bay bolt kits.

If you want to spend a fortune get the Pro bolt catalogue.

Depending how many you need, www.yell.com, enter "Bolt and nut stockist" and pay your local one a visit.

Mine is Bapp, but we also used to have a Trevafield.

They'll have stockists, even in the Kingdom of Fife **

Oh, and change those with low torque jobs for stainless. If in doubt, ask on here.

Thanks for all the advice , first job is removing the bumpers to see what lies behind , I would like to replace all the bolts and clips involved

Clips:

Go on ebay, search "Impreza trim clips" or "Subaru Impreza trim clips."

Then, when you have removed one, measure it's length and diameter or the hole diameter it came out of, and buy as necessary. I replaced about 50 different ones for under £10.
