Boost issues after rain/car wash

After washing my car not so long ago (trying not to get water on the top mount intercooler) I hit what felt like fuel cut when on full boost. I pulled over to see if I could see anything and couldn't after 5 or so mins of the engine running I tried again in case it was a hose i'd fiddled with, kink I hadn't spotted but sorted etc. and it was fine & has been since...

Until tonight when I've had lots of rain. 10-15mins of the usual letting it warm up and then the same thing happened on full boost around 4.5k it felt like it was hitting the fuel cut. Pulled over had a check everything was ok for 5mins and then it was fine again :wonder:

Any ideas what I should be looking for? I will add that the Idle seemed to be a bit more erratic tonight and felt a little like it was holding back a bit and also cut out on the 1/4 mile drive to the shop when I pulled up (I know, I know...I was at work and in a rush)

The MAF sensor might be wet. Also do you have a boost gauge? My experience with fuel cut was when I overboosted.

Haven't got a boost gauge, but it's standard so don't think it'll be the boost.

Not sure how the MAF will be getting wet, the air filter looked bone dry last night but maybe i'll stick on a normal air filter box and filter to check.
