Impreza misfired on boost now wont run

Hi, im new here but had a few scoobys over the years. driving my 2000 reg uk turbo down the road, boost kicked in then in higher revs it was like I hit a wall all it started to misfire really bad, I was low on fuel at the time so thought it was that, I parked up and it died instantly. I went up to my local shell garage for v-power put £15 in a 20l can put it in and its refusing to start, coughing and spluttering. I spray easy start in to the filter and it will run (not very well) for about 5 seconds then just cut out. Where is run low on fuel could the plugs be dirty or the filter full of S**t from the bottom of the tank? I have spark and fuel.
Thank in Advance

I did have a quick look over and couldnt see any pipes that had come off... Would this cause such a poor/non running engine though? Even if i pump the throttle or hold it down it will just cough and splutter but not enough to get it to run after key is released from cranking position

Yup, check the pipe to the BOV or if you have a boost gauge check the pipes are connected in there ok

Just checked all pipes, all seem fine. If i spray easy start in the filter it runs a lot and revs up but pops and bangs alot. Changed the fuel filter, plugs and still no better. The plugs are getting wet as i took them out after trying and seems like there isn't a strong enough spark or something to ignite the fuel. but could be completely wrong. any help or advice is strongly appreciated. Im getting no engine check light either which doesn't help

can you hear the fuel pump prime when you turn the ignition on ?

kristof181 28 April 2015 11:14 AM

Yer and when i crank it over fuel comes out the pipe thats on the "out" of the filter

just had pump out to check, bag was in good condition and pump working fine. Ordered a new MAF which should be here later if not tomorrow so will plug that in and see what happens

check your cam and crank sensors

kevo10 28 April 2015 01:58 PM

Also could be the coilpack(s)

kristof181 28 April 2015 02:02 PM

Unplugged crank sensor car wouldnt do nothing not even cough or splutter same with cam sensor... only time it does exactly the same either plugged in or not is the MAF sensor.

kevo10 29 April 2015 01:32 PM

Have you had the new maf yet ?

kristof181 29 April 2015 04:07 PM

No one turned up but its the wrong one. Ordered another should be here in couple days. Plugged it into a differnet scanner today and intake air temp was showing -40 so im guessing its deff the maf sensor

kristof181 02 May 2015 09:21 AM

got hold of a second hand (unsure on condition) maf... done the same.... just coughs and bangs... waiting for a known decent MAF to turn up this morning to try. Any other reason the car would read -40?
Thanks

CTS gives temp readings

kristof181 02 May 2015 10:07 AM

Its saying intake temp is -40 would the CTS give an intake air temp reading?
I thought it was in the MAF

Ordered a CTS today should be here tomorrow. Fingers crossed it sorts the prob. Im at my wits end with it
