Engine identification
 
bought an engine and am unsure what it is, head's say rh c 009 and lh c 008 is a ej20, red top, with the offset coil but someone may have just thrown that plenum on.
any other number's needed i can try and find them :)

The head codes are for a Version 5~6 WRX/STi ( common casting ) and should have the off set Inlet manifold bolt pattern as opposed to the inline bolt pattern for the Version 1~4.

Without pulling a cam cover off and checking if it has under bucket shims(STi) or over bucket shims (WRX) and checking the camshaft codes, it's difficult to determine externally what engine you have.

interested in checking these "shims" ive had a cam cover off. can i have soe more info on finding these shim's please :)

so i think they are over bucket, has a disc looking thing at the top? so it's not an sti engine?

Yes, over bucket shim will be a WRX bazza.
