induction kit
What would you guys advise for my Wr1?
K&N typhoon http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B000CO9V6I/ref=cm_sw_r_an_am_ap_am_gb?ie=UTF8 Or RCM induction http://rogerclarkmotorsport.co.uk/store/product/150-rcm-induction-kit-wrx-sti-01-07 i am fitting an after burner raptor and doing a remap also :) |
A decent panel filter, will save you a fortune and not suck hot air in from the engine bay.
|
Thats a point
il just do that then... lol For those of u have tried both or have exp wit 1 please let me know ur thoughs Thanks |
RCM all day long for me,
|
panel filter is fine up to 400bhp. Induction kits are only for high power cars or people obsessed with induction noise.
Are you going to ask everyone what the best dump valve is next? |

im getting an ecutek map done at scooby clinic
yes I am obsessed with induction noise lol nah im not a fan of dump valves tbh - but hearing the turbo spool up is a part of the enjoyment of driving a scooby |
I'm sure the clinic will look after you, any your wallet lol
You might want to shop around for remap prices 1st as i'm guessing you wont get any change out of £700 up there. |
well it already has a ecutek map on it at 330bhp so they quoted me £200+VAT for a calibration map.
I am only having it mapped again so that it is calibrated for the new exhaust system and new induction kit (currently as a HKS induction mushroom tip that the previous owner had the car mapped with on) I heard those are bol**x so reason for the change. I hear you re panel filters but it sounds like a micra with no induction lol |

yes its full dyno and before and after graphs
thanks every1 |
£200+ vat for a tweek + dyno time is a fair price, good call on that.
Induction wise, as people have said the RCM kit (rebranded K&N) is good, also the APS kit is quality. If the car is standard apart from that i'd also get a 3 port boost solenoid put on while you're there. |
what is a 3 port solenoid - I have got no idea what it is lol
what does it do and how much would it cost? |
also is there any particular one i should get or from a particular place
prices seem all over the place |
you will currently have a 2 port on, which has a t-piece in it where it connects to the turbo.
A 3 port has individual feeds and can handle more boost, so is a nice addition pre-map. Expect to pay around £75 fitted for a decent branded one. Google them or do a search on here, plent of info if you look around |
Scoobyclinic do a lovely perrin short ram intake, also look for a classic 3 port only about £40 and very good quality.
|
Perrin do a 3 port solenoid got mine from scoobyclinic as well
|
wouldnt the K&n be better seen as it has a heat cover shied thingey lol
I really cant understand how this is different to the HKS one they are both simple metal pipes with an air filter strapped to the top how do they really differ? |
Cosworth Panel Filter and blank the DV for mapping ;)
|
Perrin induction kits are good. Have one on mine and love it. They sell them at Scoobyclinic
|
rcm
I went with rcm

3 port solenoid
I read online that the WR1 came with a 3 port as standard
