Alloy wheel size for WRX STI 2009

Looking for help on the wheel specs on the 2009 STI

are they 5 x 100 ? whats the ET and PCD ? anything else i need to know?

Im looking at buying some Pro race 1.2 in 18s but dont know what other dimentions i need to be looking at.

thanks

BBB3 16 April 2015 06:57 PM

5x114.3

ET35 >>>>ET 53

18x8.5 or 18x9

Nt11 16 April 2015 09:19 PM

Thanks ! What does the et do? Why such a variance ?

AudiMan 16 April 2015 09:20 PM

anything less than a ET 45 and you will be getting into arch rolling,

I have Rota Force 18x8.5 ET45 and they are just fine, (even with Tein lowering springs)

245/40 x 18 tyres

Make sure the Pro race clear the calipers as well

Nt11 16 April 2015 09:36 PM

So I need et 45-53?

AudiMan 16 April 2015 10:22 PM

yes - 45 or upwards,
lower can be used but the rears will rub, so will need rolling, which is easy enough (if done by a good outfit), then you can go down to about 35,

just don't fit spacers - I understand they ruin the handling

Nt11 16 April 2015 10:31 PM

Okay , can you explain what et is ? Is that how far the wheel sticks out in essence ?

Yes in essence - but it takes other things into account as well, like the dish of the wheel,
http://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Wheel-Offset-Calculator
use this to see how existing and new would be different - then go stick your head in the rear wheel arch and see the clearance you have between existing tyre and arch - will show you how much room you have to play with.

Also speak to Mags at Ruislip Wheel and Tyre - he knows everything about wheels and Scooby fitments and will tell you what you can get away with and what will need work.

Ian..

et is basically offset - or how far your wheels stick out of the arches - anything less than ET45 and your wheels will start to rub on the arch lip as they stick out to far

Nt11 17 April 2015 12:56 PM

so really i need 45-53.

but as close to 45 as poss for them to fill the arches best

Nt11 17 April 2015 12:57 PM

ps thank guys

Nt11 17 April 2015 01:49 PM

yeah, wicked i think ive got it now . fingers crossed!

know of any alloys to look at? motorsport style.

been looking at , Rota, Pro race 1.2 , and Work wheels.

18x9 ET35 on a hatch sits nicely, PM maggy on here he will tell you :)

adamobie1 17 May 2015 09:36 PM

Will fitting 19" alloys effect the performance/drive on a sti hatch? Looking at a set of the 19" multi spoke off the wrx sti sedan, currently on 17" standard alloys

Cheers

adamobie1 20 May 2015 11:34 PM

Anyone?

BBB3 21 May 2015 07:10 AM

Yes 19's will ruin handling, Subaru put time and money into developing what works best.

18's with decent tyres and suspension set up = sorted

adamobie1 21 May 2015 12:57 PM

Even fitting the genuine sti 19" alloys onto a hatchback? As there sold for this car as a optional extra

Adam

Does anyone know the standard sizing to the 330s 18 alloys ?

I think they're 5x114 and 8j?
What's the et?

They are 8.5 x 18 and the offset is 55

Nt11 13 June 2015 11:20 PM

Perfect ! , now the scoob is a little lower I think if I run anything bigger than 8j the tyres will hit the rear arch

So if I ensure I get 8.5j and 55 offset or 9j and 50 offset but keep the same tyre the slight stretch should just miss my arch :) happy days ??

Nt11 14 June 2015 11:36 AM

Also what's the hb?
I know you can get spigot rings to adapt this but what is the standard size?
