Ok, so it's not Scooby related (well, almost, I DO own one)

I'm off to Vegas on Monday to tie the knot so will bid farewell for 3 weeks to you lot.
I'll try and catch up if I pass an internet cafe in the States.

Hopefully the wife will understand........

congratulations - tell me how it goes, my finacee and I were thinking of getting married in las vegas :) which hotel etc etc??

Devil's Refugee 05 June 2002 03:50 PM

Cheers !

Definitely recommend this route for a stress-free wedding the way you want it (ie your not paying for everyone else to have a good time and listening to the mother-in-laws suggestions every 5 minutes!)

We booked up at T.Cooks and basically invented our own package;

5 nights Vegas at the Luxor (that huge f*ck-off pyramid) including wedding package (photos, video, webcast)

then onto

5 nights in San Francisco, Radisson Wharf Hotel

and finally.....

5 nights in New York in the heart of Manhatten.

Costs considerably less than you'd think mate, and the bonus is that you're getting a wedding and honeymoon the way you want it and at the same time.

Go for it.

Congratulations and good luck mate

Me and my missus were thinking about marrying in Jamaica

Agree with your comments.....why spend 10-15k on a wedding for everyone else....this is your day!!

Enjoy it

Paul

One thing I would say is that we spent almost 5 hours at the travel agent, and had to break for lunch to consider any other options which we wanted.
Take your time boys when you decide.

We were almost going to Maui for 10 days after the Vegas wedding but then would've been bored sh*tless since there's not much to do there (not really into watersports, no pun intended, hehehe), so plumped for the multi-tour/ sightseeing type honeymoon.

Besides....the missus-to-be wanted to max out my credit card shopping in NY

The Luxor is cool we stayed next door at the Excalibur (look just like king arthurs castle), its so cheap to eat and sleep in Vegas.

You can hire dodge vipers by the hour on the main strip white ones with the blue stripes :D. I nearly did but there were all booked out. Vegas is a great place but I didnt survive more than 3 days as the place is manic. You may want to think about the helicopter ride to the canyon if you make it out of your hotel :D.

Good luck

Thanx Chris,

May invest in a Viper to transport me and the wife back to the Luxor after the wedding.....would be better than a limo, haha!

I can highly recommend the luxor, amazing place - make sure you ask for the room inside the pyramid!

Devil, there are enough factory outlets in and around LV for your wife to max out your credit card without going to New York. While u are there, be sure to see some of their fabulous magic shows, just make sure u don't volunteer to go on-stage or they may make u disappear into thin air, with the exception of David Copperfield's flying act. The lucky female volunteer will get to fly in his arms like Superman, amazing. I was watching two different shows a nite while I was there, but then I wasn't on a honeymoon either.

Devil, the Luxor is a top hotel.
If you are in to clubbing try C2K inside the venetian. While we were in Vegas I tried the Richard Petty experience at the Las Vegas speedway. What a great thing to do.8 lap's in a genuine Nascar for only $200.:D :D
Cheers Paul.

Never been to Vegas, but New York kicks ass!

This is my fave place I have ever visited.
