Brake Overhaul

So i have had some AP Racing CP6600 on my legacy for a few years and they finally showing their age and need a refurb, I need new pads and also need to replace the disc section of my two piece rotors as they are well worn and are warped so currently its not a pleasant braking experience.

So for fast road use in a daily driver what would be a good option of pads to got for these days? I currently have EBC yellowstuff that aren't that great for my setup

Calipers will need to be stripped down and seals and wear plates fixed too. Is it a big job to refurbish the calipers yourself? Any specialist tools required? Only other option would be to send them to someone to get refurbished but options are limited in Ireland so i would probably need to send them to UK

Contact Godspeed or AS Performance (both members here) about having a refurb carried out, or, if you're handy and have decent tools I'm sure they'd sell you the required parts to do the job.

HI
The calipers are fairly easy to do if you know what you're doing , you don't need any specialist tools to do them.

Its very rare to have to change the pistons in these calipers , seal kits are about £30 per caliper , the pad plates can be removed , its just a button head 6mm bolt holding them in.

We charge £95 per caliper to completely strip them down , bead blast , and powder coat them any colour you want , we polish the seals , chemically clean the seals , as long as the seals are still good we can re-use them , if not for extra charge we fit new ones. , we bead blast the pad plates and re-fit them with new bolts , we also fit new bleed nipples.

We can supply you new rotors and a set of nuts and bolts for £295 a pair , as you have one of our kits the rotors will fit directly onto your bells.

Pad wise , there are plenty of pads available for these calipers , I don't rate the yellowstuff pads , but for fast road use , the Blue NDX or DS2500's work well , for fast road and track use we are big fans of CL RC5+
DS2500's are £108 a set
NDX blue's are £135 a set
CL RC5+ are £198 a set

Hope this helps

Cheers Ian

Hi Ian, thanks for the reply, sterling rate is a killer at the moment against the euro. Is there any single piece discs that will work with these calipers. I dont mind dropping a bit in size to be honest, car probably wont see track again anytime soon if even!

Hi
No sorry there isn't a one piece disc that will fit , only our rotor fits , if you can hang on a couple of months , I'm over doing Ravens rock rally , euro might have come back , and can save on carriage bringing them over for you
Cheers Ian

I always fancied getting my callipers all refurbed by yourself but recently but it seems it all went very quickly from 65 to now 95 a calliper and I think I would be better just buying the seal kit and getting them powder coated locally
