Turbohot 30 March 2015 01:51 PM

What exactly is that, then? Bread maker or a cement mixer?

Ooperbum 30 March 2015 02:20 PM

Swati!!!! Bread maker? :lol1:

JackClark 30 March 2015 02:39 PM

It's a crucible furnace for melting metal. I went halves with a mate for a laugh.

You went halves on a £700 furnace, for a laugh? :Suspiciou

PaulC72 30 March 2015 03:33 PM

It's somewhere to melt the stolen jewellery anyway....

Nice find. Yes, it's going to be fun, we have a few things we'd like to try.

Sound. :thumb:

But say you've melted a few things, then what. Do you have some moulds to shape the melted metal into vases or even to make replica spoilers for scooby? :wonder:

JackClark 30 March 2015 08:30 PM

Furniture.

hodgy0_2 30 March 2015 08:32 PM

eBay yes, but have been looking for this particular bad boy furnace for a good while. It's massive overkill but I'd rather turn it down than not be able to turn it up.

Kwik 30 March 2015 09:13 PM

Mould the metal into furnaces, then sell them on eBay to p1ss heads lol.

the shreksta 30 March 2015 09:26 PM

Mould the molten metal into 2.5 pistons and sell to subaru.................gotta be better than their std pistons :)

That's when all the best purchases are made. :thumb:

wayne9t9 31 March 2015 11:44 AM

Did it come wih tongs, gloves, aprons and protective face mask? Your also going to need casting sand and a ladle. Or you could just fill it with peanut oil and fry a turkey.

dpb 31 March 2015 01:10 PM

He'll certainly feel like a new man after that lot :D

We have some kit and more coming. Losing a foot isn't part of the plan.

A year later we did our first woodcasting. Not bad for a first attempt. That's me wearing shorts, safety first.

That's a few holes in an inch thick slab of ash, we poured from the other side. Next up we go bigger, making a 10ft slab with holes in into a feature, an expensive feature.
