Blob widetrack clutch biting at the top!

Is there any adjustment on the clutch on these?

fat-thomas 29 March 2015 09:34 AM

Not really they are hydraulic butties possible to adjust the pedal height

I've just got the car and upon driving the biting point is high. Especially compared to my bugeye wrx so it's deffo not right?

Have you noticed the clutch slipping??

No but ive only driven it once as im still waiting for the beginning of next month to tax it! Is this going to be costly to replace or should I adjust if poss?

scooby_impreza 29 March 2015 01:39 PM

Adjusting it will only adjust the pedal not the biting point. Only way to fix it is a new clutch my friend

Thats what I was worried about! Just got it too, but I knew it was imminent. Any idea of cost for this?

You really need to take the car out for a proper drive before you start to jump to conclusions about weather a new clutch is needed or not,Is the clutch slipping?.SJ.

I can fully appreciate exactly what you are saying and I had a good drive of it yesterday and the clutch is considerably higher than my bugeye wrx. So ideally I would need another wide track owner to let me know if theirs is the same? But yes I am not going to do anything until I have driven it for a few weeks was just testing the water thats all!

Gauging some cost and expert knowledge so if it does need doing I know exactly where to go and what sort of figure to expect to pay.

Fair play:thumb:You wont get much change from £600 fitted depending on what clutch you need for your power requirements it can go much higher, and if the flywheel needs skimming etc...which it should really be done if a new clutch is fitted the price can go up further its not really a cheap job unless you can fit it yourself, that's why i said to make sure that you know exactly what the problem is 100% before shelling out your readies;).SJ.

My blob sti has always had a high clutch bite even after fitting new clutch,if it doesn't slip I wouldn't worry

Yes I will drive it for a few weeks. May well be a case of the clutch being different in this particular model compared to my wrx!
