New Guy

Hi,

I just bought a impreza wrx sti spec D and have a few questions I was hoping you guys would be able to answer.

The car only came with one key so I was hoping to get another one cut and coded to the car, where can I get this done? And how much is it likely to cost me?

The car is going to be due a service and possibly an MOT in the next few weeks/ month, I'd also like to get it looked over to make sure everything is 100% as it should be, can someone recommend me a good garage to go to get this done?

The last thing is the alarm/ immobilizer on the car, if you don't get in and start the car within a few seconds the immobilizer kicks in and the car wont start, meaning I have to lock and unlock the car to get it to start, its a pain! Is there any way round this to delay the immobilizer kicking in or turn it off or something?

Any help/ info is appreciated!!

talk to Craig at Seedhill he loves his Scoobies

cant help you with the key coding but immobiliser when you turn the key all the way to start and nothing happens just let it come back on the spring and press the lock button on the keyfob, the car wont lock but the immobiliser will be reset.

Hi Mate. The scottish bit on here is very quiet. Try Scottish scoobies.net

This place i great for technical info and sales etc but you'll need to post in those areas.

I reckon you'll probably need to got to Subaru for the key. Eaglesham motors can help or Ian Greives i think in Falkirk.

Anyway welcome to the world of scoobs.

Johnny.

Just got a quote from Subaru for £300 for a new key plus coding etc!! That seems crazy high!

might be different on the newer cars but I was able to take my bug key to the local key cutter/shoe repair dood and he cut a new one in about 10 minutes including cloning the existing key. Popped it in the car and started first time so might be worth checking out.
