Rare Cosworth CS400 STI For Sale

Not for sale. Sorry I never thought to update this thread... better late than never I guess.

Cosworth STI For Sale no.54/75

After two and a half years of blissful ownership, I have regretfully decided to part with my 2012 Cosworth CS400 STI. The car is generally in excellent condition, with no wear to the interior and dent free bodywork. It has been my pride and joy and I wish for it to go to a good home.

Unfortunately the car is not getting much use these days. I'm focussing very heavily on my career at the moment and with a young family I am finding it hard to take the time to enjoy the car in the way it was designed to be. The Cosworth STIs are the fastest "out of the box" Imprezas by some distance and are devastatingly fast point to point.

Anyone interested in buying this car will be aware of the full specification, but to briefly recap:

- circa 400bhp power output, good for a claimed 0-60mph time of 3.7s

- Cosworth-assembled engine with
Forged Pistons
Forged Connecting Rods
Forged Bearings
Heavy Duty Cylinder Heads
Uprated Head Gaskets and studs

- Custom exhaust system

- Uprated clutch and carbon syncros

- Front AP Six Pots with 355mm ventilated discs

- Lightweight Racing Dynamics Pro-Race 18" alloy wheels

- Bilstein dampers with Eibach springs

- Smaller diameter steering wheel

- Zunsport mesh grilles

- Xenon headlights

- Leather interior with Cosworth-embroidered logos

The car for sale is largely standard but further benefits from

- genuine R205 STI rear under diffuser

- Genuine Hella Supertones in red, with subimods harness and relay

- Carbon side vents with zunsport mesh

- Spare genuine alloy wheel with unused tyre

- Zero Sports Intercooler splitter

- Genuine STI wind deflectors

- Kaylan mudflaps by performance creations

- Rear light cluster wraps

- K2Gear Carbon Fibre front and rear badges

- Genuine R205 black fender decals

I may (subject to negotiation) also include in the sale

- Genuine STI Group N strut brace

- SU61ARU number plate

Car History

ODO currently reads 9200 miles. This may go up slightly.

I purchased this car from Mangoletsi Subaru at the beginning of October 2012, as a pre-registered car with delivery mileage. The previous owner was listed as IM Motors and when I picked her up she had 60 miles on the odo.

She has been serviced according to schedule throughout her time with me, at the six monthly intervals required. Mangoletsi Subaru of Knutsford should be happy to confirm that this car has been looked after to a high standard and is in as good condition as I have described it.

She has also had warranty work carried out to refresh the suspension, and has been subjected to a full vehicle inspection at the last service she had in January. This car is good to go and has never once been abused in its time with me, having been fully serviced in January and covered a couple of hundred miles since.

I would like to make it clear that this car has never been tracked. It comes with four good tyres, pads and discs. There are no issues associated with the clutch or drivetrain and the engine pulls and sounds as it should.

The car has been garaged in the entire time it has been in my possession and the only negative point I can list is that it has a couple of small paint chips on the front bonnet, and a small smudge on the drivers headlight that has polished out.

Upon sale the car will be provided with a valid MOT, and will have been fully valeted. There is outstanding finance on the vehicle that will be fully settled before both sets of keys are handed over.

Cars of this condition and mileage are still commanding prices over £30k from dealers, but I am realistically looking for offers around £28,000.

I am not looking for a part-exchange and not in a hurry to sell. I may update this thread with further information and photographs as necessary, but there are more photographs available on the thread at the top of my signature.

Anyone interested can contact me via PM or via email at thenewgalaxy@hotmail.com and I will be happy to provide my contact details to discuss this in person or over the phone.

WOW - Never thought I'd see you get shot of this.

GLWTS, although I doubt you'll need it. :)

I came extremely close to buying one of these and I still wake up in the middle of the night wondering if backing out of the sale was the right decision (I left my deposit for the time waste.....)
I ended up with something very nice instead but seeing a Cossie either on the road or for sale- especially a nice one like this reawakens my scoobie love.

why is there a picture of a mustang with its bonnet up?

andyf31 20 March 2018 11:15 PM

It’s been up for a while that one, condition from the pics doesn’t look that great. The interior was a mess from previous photos plus the calipers look very faded and the discs need replacing. Looked more like an 80k mile car that 8k mile car from the photos I looked at a while ago.

in the pics it show its running an aftermarket top mount along with head breathers being redirected to some bottle beside washer bottle so someone was doing a bit of tinkering with it - so maybe had a hard 8k mile

OP's car looks worth every bit of the 28k & more in comparison

juggers 21 March 2018 12:18 PM

Dont think the OP is selling anymore specially not for £29k,

johndon1 22 March 2018 10:01 PM

Thanks for update.
I will give this cs400 a miss.
Hopefully a clean genuine low mileage[u 25000 mls]will turn up at some stage.
Anyone out there got a low mileage cs400 thinking of selling during the year.

I don't think the car is still for sale since the ad is from 3 years ago...

johndon1 23 March 2018 02:03 PM

I was onto garage 3 weeks ago and car was still there.
Got Em back with addit info re larger intercooler & oil catch tank.
Where are the older photos as I assumed photos were taken recently.
I have details when car was previously for Auction in Newcastle but didn't sell. Photos from Auction showed car in ok condition-similar condition to present photos.
Where can I find previous details. I wonder is there a second car, same colour sold previously.
Any info much appreciated.Thanks.

I have a 2010 CS400 with 23k miles that I’ve owned for 7 years. In gray, I’m the second owner, open to sensible offers 07954 583059

Yeah, I changed my mind about two months after I put the advert up and never got round to updating the post. I’m thoroughly enjoying this car though she does tend to spend half the year locked away these days.

Values of these cars remain strong and for good reason.

Welcome back, and glad to hear that you are still in the fold; I thought you had sold up too.
