Celebrities - for want of a better word

I just caught 2 mins of Chris Evans on some program this evening

It reminded me that back in the day - 80's I suppose, I thought he was a massive tool (along with wossy) - could not bare the sight of them both, and would immediately switch channels etc

But recently, say in the last 10 years (when ever i hear him on the radio, talking/interviewd) I think he comes over really well, and actually quite down to earth,

Same with wossy too

Who has changed your view of them as time goes by (and why)

Even better if you have met them, expecting a t0sser, but finding someone you liked

Completely agree about Chris Evans, he has definitely changed for the better.

Always thought he was alright TBH, especially liked TFI Friday back in the day. :)

I used to think that he was just a hard man from Eastenders programme, although I knew that he gave background commentary to many documentaries etc. I was pleasantly surprised to see his Gang programmes and decided that he's not just a hard looking man with a commentator's voice, but a compassionate, creative and an intelligent person.

Katie Hopkins - actually a lovely person who's down to earth and straight to the point.

LOL, I thought it was just me. I actually rather enjoy his radio show now plus he is a complete petrolhead.

James Whale, I used to think he was an arrogant, ignorant and obnoxious twerp. Then I met him and found him to be a very nice, down to earth and polite man.

The problem with those "shock jocks" is they have to be controversial - it's a money thing

One of my oldest and dearest friends is often a pundit on Alan Brazil's morning Talk Sport radio show

He is one of the sweetest men I have ever had the fortune to know (he is my eldest daughters Godfather)

When talking about his appearances, he is always concerned about being invited - week on week, back

I said you need to be more controversial, more opinionated, in essence nastier

If the radio station does not get at least 1 complaint per show - then why hire you

It is often a "money thing"

kanye west. i used to think he was a bit of a tool.....but i now think he,s a total utter tool.

Iain Duncan Smith. I used to think he was a fairly straight guy for a politician.
Seen him deny many facts,even ones from official Government stats, about the poor & under privileged.
He has been tasked with a job & seem hell bent on getting it done whatever the consequences.
I keep expecting him to say 'I am just following orders.'

IDS is quite dangerous actually - his decisions are clouded by specious religious dogma

And as we know, they are the most dangerous

As to changing my views,voted for Tony Blair all those years ago and for the first time ever didn't vote Conservative

I love Dot Cotton! I predicted that she'd total that screen son of hers i.e. Nasty Nick. I imagined that she'd total him on Christmas day, and then utter some rhetoric from the Holy Bible to conclude the mighty episode. It didn't happen this way, and it didn't happen on Christmas either. It has recently happened, and she has confessed boldly to the police. In fact she didn't exactly kill him with intent to kill, but she didn't exactly save him, and she did that with the intent for him to finally snuff it.

Anyhow, I also didn't think Peter Andre was that decent until I saw him break down on TV over their children's paternal future, which included his adopted son Harvey. That's when Katie Price was with that cage fighter.

Peter Andre always seemed quite decent to me (thick, but decent)

You know I liked his Mysterious Girl song in those old days, but I never looked into who he was. Less even, after he got married to Jordan. So I always presumed he was just anyone. But yes, he's a nice guy. While Katie was toying around with some showy 'all look and no brains' men in her life, he remained single for a long time, eventually got together with a lovely and chilled out doctor girl, and now he's married to her, I think. He even has a new baby with her, I hear.

Oh, yes! I used to think that Russell Brand was a nob. Now I think he's cool.

We played a game on Christmas dinner table where one question was- which five celebrities you'd like to invite for dinner and have a social evening with. Mr. Turbohot was coming up with some high brow dignitiaries like Gandhi and Martin Luther King types, although they aren't even alive any more, and Mr. T's sister pulled him over for that. :lol1: I said I'd like Russell Brand, Warwick Davies with his whole family, The Idiot Abroad man and two more that I can't remember now. All the people I chose were fun and stimulating, although Russell's non-stop gobshyte probably would give a migraine, I know.

Tony Blair. Went from like to dislike. Same reason as Chris. It's genuinely very hard to make a choice as to the best thing to do with voting as a result of that sales job. I voted Labour in the late 90s and have subsequently swung to Blue and even now I find myself going around in circles trying to avoid being sideswiped by PR. There's almost too much to weigh up to make tbe "right" choice, which could ultimately end up wrong later down the line.

And she's bloody gorgeous too :) I delivered to them over xmas and she answered the door and he shouted "Thank you" from the kitchen. My Mrs swoons whenever she sees him round here lol.
She always used to have their programme on, and Katie Price was vile to him.

I changed my mind after disliking Russell Brand firstly after watching him on Big Mouth and then reading his book years and years ago. He's been through a lot, not just drug addiction.

Turn it the other way.

I like watching deal or no deal.

But now he pontificate's about the skill of the game yet it is a game of pure luck and he harps on throughout he show.

I've been thinking about this for a bit now and as much as it pains me to say it, Nigel Farage. I may not necessarily agree with half of his politics but there's a man that knows how to say the right things and he says them very well. When UKIP first came on the scene I had the overwhelming feeling they were all just a bunch of anti-eu/immigration nutters but get him away from the subject and Farage does speak very well.

I always thought she was a bit of a munter under all those daft hats and make up, she actually looks quite decent in that vid.

Bliar...without a doubt the biggest disappointment of my life, politics wise.

I REALLY thought he would be the one to turn the Thatcherist tide, but all he did was turn the Thatcherist screws, take us into TWO illegal wars as Bush's poodle and make money for himself and his cronies.

I generally hate and don't trust anyone in politics apart from Robin Cook, the man was as honest as it gets until his untimely death, need more like him in politics.

Also love Russell Brand, the man talks lots sense and tells it how it is and I applaud him for that when so many other celebs say nothing.
