Would 3mm aluminium sheet be suitable for rear firewall?,
Thinking of using this, with maybe a strip brace riveted down the middle, to seal up the boot area.
Is it thick enough? Or will it wobble like mad. |
isn't it too thick? I'd aim for 1.5mm myself :)
Also, what are you trying to achieve? Just "random bits from the boot entering cabin", or a liquid / vapour barrier? The latter is much more involved, but there's someone on 22b.com who does cnc cut kits: http://bbs.22b.com/forums/showthread...ight=aluminium That kit looks pukka as far as I'm concerned. Wish he did a new age one :) |
Liquid/vapour barrier. I've PMd that guy, as I've no glass in it would be a grea time to do it. :thumb:

Cookstar this is my fire wall its a lot thinner than 3mm plus its had strengthen folds formed into it,its also shaped to fit over the side panel ridges so no need for a seperate panel to be welded underneath just gives you an idea what can be done ,,,have you had a look at Arch's composite panels ???

That looks spot on mate, did you are that yourself?
I think I saw something a while back about Archs panels, but not for a while though. |
Fraid not cookstar it was done by the firm that prepped the shell.
