Gave it a good spring clean today after fitting the stainless bolt and washer set from Rallytech. (cheers Tim!)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...ps5bwhxxq0.jpg The only part that needs a bit more attention is the intercooler. It has a lot of water corrosion. Any ideas on how to clean it or do I just paint it with Hammerite as I have silver already. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...pszcp95vjj.jpg |
Autosol and elbow grease.
I do like my car with FMIC etc, but the OEM layout looks much better :) |
Ok Fonzey, will do. I know what you mean about the standard layout, does look like it was meant to be, if you know what I mean.
Next job will be to remove the under bonnet insulation as it is a bit manky. Then I'll polish the underside of the bonnet and I will be nearly finished. Any thoughts on these intercoolers? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUBARU-IMP...item1c4cd9fe66 Do they improve cooling? Don't really want to go down the front mount route. |
Dont use hammerite on the intercooler it does not like alloy so will not stick very well

You'll need a radiator paint as it will let the heat through it and keep temps down.

I used hammorite and no problems on my Intercooler but raditor paint is a good suggestion
It's gets addictive though under the bonnet I hadn't cleaned under the Bonnet for 12 years untill I got some shiney bolts ans a battery bracket http://i559.photobucket.com/albums/s...f3ea0da765.jpg Then I saw the light http://i559.photobucket.com/albums/s...ac86d2be46.jpg Since that photo I've had the caps painted black Bonnet dampers are to fit when I have time New Rallytech under scoop grill to fit when it arrives Alternator to be painted black from Locky A few more bits colour coded Under the actual bonnet to be sprayed when the rest of the car goes under the knife It will never stop and phase 2/3/4 starting soon |

Some nice looking engine bays there. I've been toying with the idea of cleaning mine up then 'pimping' (excuse the term) it up a bit. The problem is though as I'm new to all this I don't really know where to start...anyone got any advice?
EDIT: Picture added. |
