What ECU to use

Hi guys, im in the process of getting a 2.1 stroker built for my classic wrx. (sadly my old engine let go) Im not to clued up and ECU's so was wondering if you guys could recommend a good ECU to buy for it, I was thinking of having anti-lag and launch control aswell. Sorry if sounds a bit stupid, im bit of a newbie really :)

Many thanks

My choice would be Alcatek
or Syvecs if you can afford to pay more.

My choice would be ESL
or Syvecs if you have deep pockets

what power are you planning to run?

Are any aftermarket ecu's that are obd2 compatible just as I found out with the Alcatek u cannot pull codes once I had this set up

ESL has full diagnostic facilities by software and CEL.

I think there's a very important question and consideration which has been missed.

Who's building the engine and what do they recommend?

The last thing you want if you don't achieve your expected gains is for the engine builder to blame it on the ecu/mapper

no point getting a alcatek as you can not get hold of him for back up

Without knowing plans then can't say, hence my power question. 500 horse and syvecs will be best option, not worth scrimping on a big build.

Thanks for the feedback guys, Enginetuner in Plymouth are building the engine, and will be doing the mapping, im popping up there on Saturday so ill ask for some advice from the guys :). Im hoping to run high 300's but its early on in the build yet so bit up in the air as to speak

Many thanks for the info people

In that case. Alcatek without a shadow of a doubt. Unless you want to pay the extra fro syvecs.
Martyn will do your mapping down there.

as above, i went syvecs route cos i manage to pick up one cheap, had i not would have been alcatek
