Poorboys polish with carnauba followed by chemical guys wet mirror finish then chemical guys petes 53 wax........will look gorgeous

Blackhole is a glaze and will fill minor swirls. It gives a nice finish. Top with a decent wax and you're good to go.

Strictly speaking you'd be better off correcting the paint instead of hiding defects but each to their own.

Thanks guys, funny you should say that bodski as I text my mate last night to see if he was free to detail it so it's getting done early next month. When you mentioned a good wax, what would you recommend?

On a black car I'd personally go down the Blackfire Midnight Sun if you're looking for a wax. If not and if you're willing to try a sealant not a wax then Sonax Polymer Netshield looks stunning on black

Thanks man, btw seen your thread with the pictures of the cars you've detailed! Amazing work lad!

100% agree with Bodski, I took his advice for my graphite hatch and the results were very impressive. No more expensive waxing for me now as Sonax LSP it the muts:thumb:

Bodski, what's your opinion on getting engine bays steam cleaned?

All good mate. Safer than using a pressure washer. I've done a fair few imprezas with steam and the results are always good.

Ideally you'd want to protect all the plastic parts afterwards with something like 303 aerospace protectant

ChrisR90 12 February 2015 08:37 PM

Cool mate thanks, disconnect the battery or not?

ChrisR90 12 February 2015 10:16 PM

Also, so you use anything special on windows (exterior)

B0DSKI 13 February 2015 08:36 AM

No need to disconnect the battery. Some leave the engine running but if I'm using steam I don't bother personally. If I was using a pressure washer I would.

Gtechniq G1 on all windows and windscreen (3 coats on windscreen 1 on windows)

Thanks again mate
