multi map ecu

hi im dean. this is my first post so go easy on me . i curantly have a bmw 318 coupe witch i cant stand ive been looking to get my first scooby (a classic) for a while looking at april time. is there such a thing as a multi map ecu? my thinking was have 3 differant map settings that u can adjust from inside the car have an eco setting for going to work a beefed up setting for normal driving and an race setting for track. is this possible? sorry about the crappy spelling.

Ecutek remap will be able to accommodate high and low boost maps, but for 3 fully switchable maps your going to be looking at 1000s for something like syvecs.

Rule of thumb is don't buy an impreza for economy 👍

thanks for the info. i know its never going to be an eco car but would like some sort map that gets the best mpg also a map that will give me max performance. but that i can change from inside the car id be happy with just two settings if thats pos?

ESL board for 92-98 classics have twin map, switchable from inside the car

Yardz 01 February 2015 03:54 PM

For the type of car your looking at is year dependant weather it will have mappable ecu or not. early imprezas will require ESL daughterboard witch piggy backs on the cars ecu, again dependant of year also defines which features you can have. But will not have switchable maps.

Syvecs will provide this but will cost 1600 upwards and unless your running silly spec or competing it would just be overkill.

A decent remap should open up a few horses and gain some mpg depending on mods (if any), mapper and most of all your driving style.

No probs.
Good luck in your search. Just be aware of already heavily modified cars, have a good read on here about the model and version you are wanting and look in the for sale section as you will find most cars will be enthusiast owned and if modified will have been done right.

hullkoiman 01 February 2015 04:41 PM

yes thats the plan get one owened my an enthusiast not a one that has been hammerd about round mc d's car park by some boy racer.

hullkoiman 01 February 2015 04:48 PM

Looks a nice car for the money. Good ones are getting harder to come by but I'm sure you'll find a gem when it come to the time of buying. :thumb:

I believe eculabs software can support twin maps.

Tidgy 02 February 2015 09:12 AM

Dont bother tbh, your right foot controls your boost setting ;)

I had 400bhp hawk and still managed 35mpg on a long run with a single map

all of this - your foot is the boost control so just adjust your driving style between performance and economy as needed.

All 97/8 ESL ECUs have full twin maps (not offsets or a subset of parameters like other ECUs).

92/6 ESL ECUs have full twin maps if they are v2.0.
